145$ for a birthday cake is the most outrageous price I ever paid for a cake of that size. Someone brought a lime cake at 39$ the same size and taste better! SCAM!

Gerhard’s Cafe is one of my go to places for birthday cakes as well as special event cakes. I particularly like their Mango Mousse cake loaded with fresh mango chunks on top. On different occasions, I have also tried their Sugar Free Chocolate Mousse Torte, Meringue kisses and other baked goods. The taste is always delicious and fresh.
I also enjoy the particularly vintage look and feel of the bakery, every time I go there to pick up something. It’s almost like taking a step back in time when such spots are hard to find in the city anymore.

An older looking spot. It’s got the vintage old school European look with some traditional tasty European treats
Ordered this standing triangle sliced chocolate cake and a linzer slice. The cake was very good with the cake being very soft and the outer chocolate layer giving a quick firm bite. A linzer is a shortbread pastry filled with fruits and nuts. Usually in the shape of a pie, but this one being in the form of a rectangular shape. Very nice to always try something I have never had before. It’s got remnants of a date bar, but leveled up
Service was great. Super friendly to everyone walking in and knowing it’s my first time there, let me know the options available and answered all questions about what they offered
Parking was fairly easy, but didn’t seem like a lot of spots out front, but possible more in back and around the building.
Would love to come back and try more as the cakes may be normal flavours but they look really tasty

I preordered a cake to be delivered through DoorDash. I called them a day before to confirm that they would have the cake in stock for my order. The lady that I spoke with said that they definitely will have that cake ready for the next day and that I can go ahead and order it through DoorDash...Well, I received a notification 10 mins before the scheduled delivery that they did not have the cake in stock and had to cancel my order.I need that cake to bring to a party tonight and don't have time to pick one up, which is why I tried to order one for delivery in the first place.This was a very disappointing and frustrating experience.

Sadly we got a really dry chocolate butter cream cake and now I just found out they don’t even make all their own cakes but just order them in. I’ve had the strawberry merengue cake before which was good, this last one was just not good at all.

This place saved the day for me! I asked for a ready to go cake. I got their 6 inch strawberry meringue torte for $40, their bestseller that apparently feeds 4 to 6. I felt like I could cut 16 slices from it. It was so delicious though I can see it feeding 1 person only. Everyone who ate it LOVED IT and multiple people were still talking about it for days after. I would give this cake 6 stars if I could.
