Ishq | Pure Vegetarian | Toronto

I’m usually not big on vegetarian food, but since this new restaurant is just around the corner from my place, I had to check it out!

This is a pure vegetarian restaurant in Scarborough. They’ve got a wide variety of dishes including both curries and dosas.

During my visit, I tried their Masala dosa, which came with coconut chutney and sambar—absolutely mouth-watering! I also had butter and garlic naan with dal makhani and paneer kaju masala. Everything was so delicious, I was really impressed!

P.S updating this review to add that everything that I mentioned in this review still holds true in 2025. The food is still amazing and the dal makhani is one of the best in the city. Also, Krishna was our server in one of our recent visits and he really knows what customer service is, thank you for being attentive and for making sure we left with not just a happy tummy but with a positive experience.

I dined at Ishq Restaurant on the 27th, and Manpreet Kaur’s service truly made the experience special. She was attentive, professional, and very welcoming. Her recommendations were great, and she made sure everything was perfect without ever interrupting our time.

Great food and excellent service from our server Krishna!!! Try the Manchurian momos and palak paneer with garlic naan

Ordered Masala dosa which was excellent. North Indian thaali was good and dahi batata puri was good too. Portions are generous, quality of food is fresh and full of flavour. Serveware was of good quality, and traditional that added to the experience.

Must try Mushroom Spring Dosa. The service was amazing, especially Mallavika. Every time we go with our friends, she provides a friendly service and suggests us good meals for us to try. Feels like home always.

We had dinner at Ishq, and our overall experience was truly wonderful. The ambiance was warm and elegant, creating the perfect setting for an enjoyable evening. The food was delicious, well-presented, and full of authentic flavors — every dish we tried was cooked to perfection.

A special mention to Malavika, who made our dining experience even better. She was exceptionally kind, polite, and attentive throughout the evening. Her soft-spoken and friendly nature made us feel genuinely welcome. She ensured everything was perfect at our table and served us with a bright smile that added a personal touch to the service.

Overall, Ishq is definitely a place we would love to visit again — great food, beautiful atmosphere, and outstanding service! Highly recommended!
