Best Yuzu drink of my life 10/10 and the pistachio strawberry also was amazing and the service is great I strongly recommend recommend 🤌

the taro ube cake was soooooo good and such an amazing treat. it was perfectly sweet (but not too sweet at all!!!) with a mild ube / taro yamminess infused in both the cake and the cream. the chiffon cake was spongy, soft, and so moist, and there were generous layers of cold, smooth, super super fluffy and light cream spread all over. it was so addicting, i couldn’t stop taking bite after bite.

the nama chocolate cream choux was also incredible — it might look like a pretty ordinary eclair, but the delicate CRUNCH and sweetness of the pastry was so unique. it was filled with lots and lots of cold, light, soft, and sweet chocolate cream (sweeter than the taro ube cake). the cocoa powder dusted on top added the perfect bitter touch to the treat. again, this was so addicting to eat.

Tried the eclairs! It was very light and not too sweet. We got the flavours earl grey, kinako, jasmine, and hazelnut. They were all reeeeally yummy! My fave was jasmine, my sis liked the kinako, and her bf liked hazelnut the best. Earl Grey was solid though!

Would definitely come back again! 😊 Account attendant was also nice and patient!

The caramel crunch and pistachio raspberry pastries were delicious. Will definitely be back again!

The matcha one has a strong tea taste, not too sweet, and the shell is super crispy.
The pineapple🍍one’s really refreshing, with a crunchy dried pineapple slice on top — perfect for summer🌞

Kanae Cafe used to be my favorite, but now I would never go again. We had a very awful experience!! We ordered a buy one get one free deal through UberEats and chose to pick it up. And when we arrived, the staff had already packed the box. We politely asked if both cakes were inside, and the staff just suddenly became rude and aggressive, insisting there was only one, like suddenly raised his voice and said“no no no…”And when I showed him the offer on the UberEats app, he remained rude, told me to step aside, and began talking to someone else, completely ignoring me? Which I don’t understand! Very awful experience today!

Tried Kanar cafe today after walking through the strip mall on Silver Star blvd. Small location filled with choux pastry. I tried earl grey, mama chocolate and strawberry flavours. All were delicious. The choux had a craqueline on top which I think helped with the choux not getting soggy. The pastry was light and airy and had a beautiful crunch. The cream filling was also very light and super flavourful. We enjoyed it so much that we bought a few more to gift to family. Definitely worth the visit

I had the pistachio raspberry eclair the other day, and this can be crowned as the best choux cafe place I’ve had in Toronto! It has a variety of options, like earl gray, chestnut, matcha, hazelnut, mango, yuzu… Firstly the eclair itself is just slightly crispy, filled with perfectly smooth cream and not overwhelming flavours. The presentation is also amazing. The cafe has a few spots to sit down and enjoy, but I was able to find a seat there and enjoy its cozy atmosphere. I’d definitely be coming back for their other flavours.

We traveled from the United States, and Kanae Cafe quickly became a must-visit on our trip.

Their choux and cake slice were absolute standouts. The choux pastry was crisp and airy with a rich, velvety filling, while the cake slice was beautifully balanced — moist, flavorful, and not overly sweet. Every detail felt thoughtful and refined.

Seeing the selection in the store, I really appreciate the thought that go into the flavours. You see flavours and combinations that are unique not platitudinous, like grape, nama chocolate, and caramel coconut. These are interesting enough that would be worth returning and trying out.

But I’m really not sure how to feel after seeing the staff take out my slices out from the display case with her bare hand. No gloves. No using some sort of utensil. Not even retrieving by the paper tray. Just bare hands on the sides of the cake. There was plastic film on the cake, but still, that visual is very off putting and just doesn’t feel sanitary.

Additionally, while I was studying the menu, the staff asked if I was ready to order. I asked for drink recommendations, for which she seemed wildly unprepared. Asked me questions about what I wanted and basically went “well there’s this drink but it’s not that great…”. Not sure if she really wasn’t prepared to recommend stuff, or if she just had trouble communicating since I had to repeat everything I said twice.

I don’t have high expectations for counter staff at small places that encourage take outs, but at the very very least, they should not be detracting from the experience.

We drove about 4 hours away to visit this place. We truly love this place sweets!!
Great taste and service, our favorite are strawberry shortcake and chocolate Oreo cake.

Each choux is made fresh and delicious. The pastry cream isn’t too sweet and is very smooth. All the flavours are amazing, and we tried the kinako mochi, hazelnut praline, ube cheesecake, earl
Grey, jasmine, and pistachio raspberry. All of them were amazing and the toppings (mochi and cheesecake) had great texture. I think our favourites would have to be the earl grey and pistachio raspberry. They also sell cakes, drinks and pudding. The workers are very helpful and friendly, and are willing to answer questions or offer recommendations! We will be back to try the other flavours and cakes.

Came back for the chiffon cakes and they were amazing! It wasn’t too sweet, the cake was super light and airy, and the whipped cream wasn’t too heavy. Would definitely try other cake flavours!
