I would give 0 star if I can. I ordered rice dish chicken with shredded pork and egg cake. Shredded pork was cold like it was sitting in the freezer or something. Egg cake, when I was trying to cut it in small piece to to, I couldn't cut it. I thought ok maybe they just burnt that part not a big deal and ate other part of it and i chewed something hard and had to spit it back out. Sorry to say but disgusting maybe they cooked it with something that wasn't suppose to be in there. And on the side cucumbers were so dry. I mean they could have cut the dry part out and served it but didn't even consider about cutting out the dry part of it and served it. Better not serving it than serving out. And when I told the waitress the egg part is hard I has to spit it back out because it's hard and the cucumber is dried out. She looked gave me a gesture as in like what do you want then? Right then I'm like can I get a bill. Didn't want to make a scene. Never going back again. So please save your money and go somewhere else. It's not worth of 15 bucks for that crappy dish and they don't even apologize. Even McDonald's wouldn't even do that lol. Waitress said she will make a new dish I told them it's ok because don't know if they will spit in my food or something because I made a complaint. This place has gone down alot. There's a reason why it's not as busy as before. I mean they shouldn't be serving that kind of food. People don't even give that kind of quality of food to a dog and they serve that kind of dish for 15 bucks.

A classic spot. Reminds me of Vietnam

This place has been there for as long as I've been born (31 years) Still one of the cheapest and consistent tasting Pho since the train logo one in downtown china town at Spadina all those years ago.

To be honest, there are more and more high-quality pho restaurants opening up in Markham lately. Compared to those, this place is fairly average in terms of both taste and ambiance. That said, their prices are quite reasonable, so it can still be considered a decent, everyday option.

I also want to mention that there’s a middle-aged male server—I’ve been here a few times, and he always seems a bit unfriendly and impatient. I’m not sure if he’s the owner himself.

Overall, with the growing competition in the local pho scene, this restaurant might need to rethink and improve its business strategy if they want to stay in the game long-term. Relying solely on the old “cheap and cheerful” model may not be enough anymore—most customers these days are willing to pay a bit more for better food, service, and a nicer environment.

Haven't been there for a while and I got takeout today. The food is not as good as before. Did they change owner or something?

Didn’t been there for a while, the pho is not as good as before (a bit salty and the rare beef not rare), but still good!

Food not good. Grilled chicken was overloaded with black pepper and undercooked. The Pho soup taste nothing. I have a 1 year old so I asked for a highchair they gave us a booster without belts saying that would work for a 1 year old lol.

Been coming here for years now, food is been up and down alittle but is almost always around 7/10, price is very reasonable compared to all the new pho places popping up this year.
I recommend this place

The special beef noodle tastes good, but the service from the clerk is not good and the price is moderate.

Kim Po is truly a hidden gem. The shrimp crackers paired with grilled pork are absolutely delicious, offering a delightful crunch and savory flavor. The special beef noodle soup features a broth that is both aromatic and rich, striking the good balance without being overly salty or oily. The fresh noodles have a wonderful chewy texture that elevates the dish. Don't miss out on the Vietnamese coffee; it's a one of the few authentic ones out there.

The inside decor is old-fashioned yet charming, creating a homely and warm atmosphere. Unlike newer establishments focused only on Instagram aesthetics, Kim Po prioritizes good service and good-quality food, which is appreciated. The restaurant accommodates about 20 to 30 guests and do not take reservations.

There’s a small free parking lot behind the restaurant, though finding a spot on weekends can be a bit challenging. Overall, Kim Po is a fantastic spot for a cozy, satisfying meal!
