Went here for a birthday celebration because we wanted to try something new and heard good things about this Thai restaurant. Koh Lipe did not disappoint. Each of us took turns ordering that dish to share and we all enjoyed each one, and had fun discovering which one of those are favorites. We did this again on 2nd visit. The restaurant is noisy and very busy with a lot of patrons talking, servers moving around, robots picking up dishes, etc. but the place had a nice vibe. The washrooms were okay (first visit was clean, second visit a bit unkempt), and the service was incredibly attentive for some place that was so busy. A fun place to eat, and the food was excellent.

The Tom Yum chicken wings are the star of the show! The mint pineapple smoothie was also super refreshing.

Colourful decor that makes you feel like you’re on vacation. Enjoy!

Probably the best Thai food you’ll be able to get in the GTA. The prices were fair and I can’t wait to go back.

When you enter Koh Lipe, you’re immediately immersed in its unique blend of traditional and modern aesthetics. Located in Splendid China Mall, the restaurant’s bold exterior, complete with bamboo walls and the iconic Michelin statue, sets a promising stage. Inside, a captivating wooden boat centrepiece in vibrant reds, yellows, and blues with coiling dragons and temple-like structures brings a mythical flair. Adding a futuristic touch, their busboy robot glides through the dining area, enhancing the overall experience. Here's what I ordered:
Luok Jhim: This seafood platter was a delight for seafood lovers, served with an array of fresh, perfectly boiled seafood topped with garlic chips and cilantro. The lime chilli sauce in the centre added a refreshing zest, with a distinct lime and fish sauce flavour rather than heat. Wrapping the seafood in lettuce added a nice crunch, though the squid was slightly overcooked and too chewy. Also, the lettuce was a bit wet, which needed extra napkins, but the restaurant was happy to replenish veggies upon request, which was a thoughtful touch.
Chicken Pad Thai: This staple Thai dish was well-prepared but didn’t quite hit the mark. Stir-fried with the right texture, it included equal amounts of tofu and chicken, which was not what I expected. A slight bitterness came through that I couldn’t place. These didn’t ruin the dish but they were minor disappointments. Crushed peanuts and lime on the side were a nice touch, but overall, it felt average for such a famous spot.
Service was attentive despite the busy atmosphere, though catching a server’s attention was sometimes a challenge. Koh Lipe excels in ambiance with its exotic decor and high-end feel, but prices are on the higher side. While the experience is unique, it may not be the best choice if you’re looking for good value, but it’s a good spot to introduce friends to a distinct Thai dining experience.

Great food! You would not be regretted to come here. Authentic Thai food with lots of flavors. The spicy feeling is delivering at steady pace which is really nice. It gets super busy during dinner time, would highly recommend to book a table ahead of time.

I was blown away by this restaurant. The aesthetics, the flavours, reasonable prices, I would HIGHLY recommend!!!

We came here for my birthday dinner with my family and I couldn’t have been happier with my decision to go here!

I loved all the foods we got! With the exception of the braised beef curry (too sweet, was expecting this to be more tangy and savoury) and the green curry mussels (mussels were overcooked and chewy).

My favourites were the fried pork belly, pad see ew (loved this so much, we ordered another one), pad thai and the grilled sea bass.

The service was attentive, quick and friendly.

I had an amazing experience and definitely recommend this restaurant!

This is a restaurant that truly lives up to it's Michelin star award. We went on a Sunday evening and the place was more than packed... thankfully we had a reservation. All through the appetizers, the main course and dessert one can truly taste the array of flavours. The service is impeccable and our hostess PAM was the star of our evening. She was very courteous, helpful and prompt. We are definitely coming again...and soon!!
