I was thrilled to try halibut and chips again after seven years, having moved away but recently returned to the area. I visited the restaurant, and it hadn’t changed a bit—except for the food quality. The light, flaky batter I remembered was gone; everything was overly oily and didn’t taste the same. I also noticed that the wonderful couple who used to work there was no longer around.

Great food! Vintage dining experience but that’s the best part about it. You go, you order and you get yummy food. We had haddock and cod with chips. Both were delicious! Will be coming again for sure!

A serviceable fish and chips place. It's small but you can usually find a table . It's not fancy but the fish and chips are very good . Also the prices are very good . I would definitely buy from here again . I would try to eat in so I can enjoy the hot fish and chips crispy as take out can get a bit soggy.

Excellent halibut and chips. Good batter and good chips. One of the top fish and chips in the City!! The home made onion rings are stellar. I was pleasantly surprised by this little mom and pop joint!

Okay, this is the only review you’ll need. I returned to this place after two years and ordered the halibut platter for $12.95. It came with halibut fish and fries.
The fish was small, about the size of the box it came in, and it was dry in some parts. It was much smaller than it used to be two years ago. In the picture I left of the box, you can see how small it was.
They used to give more fish and less fries, but now they do the opposite. The fries were very basic—no seasoning, no salt, and they were soft and oily. I got sick of them at one point because of how much they gave and how mushy and potatoey they tasted. Overall, I wouldn’t come back here. This place used to be much better years ago.
P.S. Maybe the food was like that because I got takeout, but I’m not sure.

Ordered out from this location fish and chips was good ordered halibut and chips. Coleslaw was just average homemade tartar sauce wasn’t actually that great and I never received the Malta vinegar or any of the other condiments that I ordered which made the meal a little less desirable.

Handeeb made the best subway sandwich i’ve ever tasted in a while, he deserves the best and hopefully better things await him later in life
My go to fish and chip place for about 20 years

Very bad costumer service. Very rude as well
Fish and chips are good, but really oily. Onion rings were bad, but tried all the fish and it was great. I ordered 7 meals for take out but only got 5 packets of tartar sauce, and 1 coleslaw. $100+ order for 7 people, 0 utensils and not enough condiments for everyone.
Whether dine-in or pickup a SkipTheDishes order, always find the experience to be excellent. The only issue is that parking is very difficult to find.
Cozy little restaurant that makes one of the best fish and chips in Scarborough
