Very reasonable price with quality. Vada is must to have.

The restaurant owner comes across as someone who hasn’t made any effort to adapt to the culture here, and honestly, anyone in their right mind who’s interacted with him probably wouldn’t return. The food is just as disappointing as his attitude. I understand people can get a bit grumpy with age, but this was on a completely different level..

Bought the dosa batter and some savoury snacks. Excellent! Unfortunately the male person at the front is extremely grumpy and definitely not front desk material; am sure many never returned because of him.

I came for the vadas. The man behind the counter recommended the idli with coconut chutney and this was a great way to start the day, infused with black cardamom and green chili. I also bought the tamarind rice on impulse and I am glad I did so as it was my favourite dish that day. The man did not know how to advise me on the paste that he was selling, a deep red, almost black. I bought it anyways and discovered it to be a richly-flavoured dry chili paste that lent a nutty flavour to my rice, with only a mild heat. I can't wait to visit Meena's again.

I am extremely disappointed with my purchase yesterday. I usually enjoy the Adhirasam here, but the batch I received was clearly stale and old. It was tough, lacked freshness, and was completely inedible. As a regular customer, I feel cheated. Please ensure you are not selling old stock to your customers; I expect much better quality for the price.

The best idli I have eaten in my life. And I've eaten tons of idlis.

I got Tomato Rice from them and it was smelling bad. I still went ahead to take a taste and realised it was spoilt.
I have previously visited this place a couple of times on my way to work to grab their box of rice items - Puliogare and Lemon Rice (since its always a generous quantity for just $5) , but they really don't taste good either.
Moreover the elderly person on call makes sure he is always very rude in his conversations and mannersim in person. Its more like he doesn't give a damn if a customer visits his store. But I always let go since he is more of my Thatha's age (grandfather) . Anyways, I am definitely not going to them again for all the said reasons.
PS: The lady in the kitchen is very sweet though!

Excellent south Indian items

Best Idli Sambhar Vadai you can get in Scarborough. I would suggest all the south Indian hotels to order Idli from here and sell in their restaurants. Mind blowing Idli and Vadai and their coconut chutney is the best.

Excellent south indian food in Canada! Be it the venpongal, sambar vadai, idli, masala dosai, vegetable upma and the occasional treat of chakkara pongal, they all taste so homely. The food not only fills the stomach but fills the heart of anyone tasting it. It is so evident Meena is cooking from her heart with full dedication. I would give this place a 5+ star rating!
I second all those who said the man is rude, very right, he literally snapped at me for addressing him uncle. OMG! All this happened in front of my mom who happen to visit the place first time.
The only reason to visit this place is for the quality of food prepared by Meena, cheers to her hard work.
One suggestion: please secure the goodwill earned so far by employing a paid labour to attend your customer, the man is ruining it perpetually.
We ordered idlis and vadais for takeout. The idlis were soft and enjoyable, but the vadais were soggy and not cooked properly on the inside, which was disappointing. The sambar, which used to be one of the highlights, lacked its usual flavor and tasted quite bland this time.
Customer service during ordering could also be improved. As noted in many reviews, the owner comes across as unnecessarily rude, which makes the experience less pleasant
