The Jerk Pork Sandwich was the worst Jerk Pork Ever. Im lucky i ordered plantain on it,because that was the only thing that tasted good.

Hate to edit this review but hadr jerk 1st time in a long time. The quality and taste of the food seems to have fallen off. It's was just ok but definitely not worth the drive from Durham region. I bought a bag of coco bread and there was a lack of the usual sweetness. I cut and butter it for sandwich and the inside broke completely off the crust. Guess I'm back to trying to find a decent jerk place in Durham.

Rice and peas were sadly undercooked. Now I have to finish cooking their rice. Very disappointing!!!!!!

The chicken used to be good, seasoned well and smoked good enough in their custom smoker to satisfy me every time...
Over the years the food has just gone downhill bad... the chicken is lifeless, the rest of the offerings looked terrible... I should have known as I walked in as the atmosphere was dreary and depressing...
If you plan to continue operating, you need to step up the quality of your food, fix up the atmosphere and actually care about your customers and their hard earned money...
My food was terrible, and I'm thankful I never bothered with the soup, it was never good anyway!
Sad for me as I grew up near peanut plaza and loved Mr Jerk.... But they could care less about the customer, and everything about the Sheppard location speaks to this...
And after patronizing the Peanut Plaza location for decades, that cheap asd owner with the glasses never even off a piece of plantain for free....
Culture vultures, don't spend your money with these ungrateful people.

This is a Scarborough Institution for jamaican takeout. We have been coming here for 2 decades. That said we were VERY Disappointed with our lunch yesterday. Jerk chicken with oxtail gravy with rice and peas. It looked good. But to taste it was very dry, overcooked and less jerk flavor than what we remember. I'm not sure if we'll go back...I hope this motivates better quality control. We were there early for lunch around noon- I'm not sure why the food was so stale...Maybe we'll see you again. I doubt it.

Hands down best jerk pork in the city. I've been coming here since I was a child in the 90s. I don't get to come here often nowadays but when I do I always enjoy it.
I have been coming to this Morningside location for over 15 years. The best oxtail in the GTA. I have tried many places but always some back here for the oxtail dinner. Rice and peas are perfect and generous amount of oxtail meat and gravy. About $23 for a large dinner which is reasonable. Service is always great, Veronica was pleasant and very friendly and efficient even with a line up ahead of me and behind me. Don’t forget to grab an Allan’s spicy beef patty from the warmer as a quick snack on the way out to your car. Also don’t forget the spicy hot sauce on the side counter, pour it yourself in the small container, 2 shot fulls of hot sauce mixed in with the rice and peas and oxtail gravy gives it the perfect spicy and tangy scotch bonnet flavour to the oxtail dinner. Their 2 meat specials are also great which includes oxtail, jerk chicken or jerk pork. My ideal and favourite comfort food and it’s worth the 30 minutes drive from the other end of town. Thanks to all the staff for continuing the great tradition of Mr. Jerk.
I've been coming to this place for years and the last couple times have really let me down I just spent a bunch of money and the food wasn't even salted at all absolutely no flavor before was the same thing last time I said I was not going to go back now I'm really not going to go back

I checked on Google I found this place. But I was disappointed the rice and beans is overly cooked and doesn't taste fresh so gummy. Sometimes reviews can lie. Iam never coming back.

The server was really rude today, imagine serving people food with that attitude. It’s my first time here and I was really turned off by her attitude that I just left. You can’t be dealing with people that are spending their money with such a bad attitude!!!!!!!

Ordered the large goat curry and jerk chicken dinners with rice/peas with oxtail gravy. The portions were decent but there was no side accompaniments of coleslaw or extra pepper sauce. The goat was tender and flavourful but the rice wasn’t anything I couldn’t make at home. The jerk was a bit dry and nowhere near as spicy as it should have been. Again, nothing I can’t make at home. Overall an extremely disappointing flavour profile. Will never go back. Usually when service is mediocre the food makes up for it, sadly not in this case.
