Decided to stop on at the mall for lunch and stumbled upon this place. While the staff was nice and accomodating, i can not say the food was on par to the viet restaurants i am used to. While the pricing is lower it reflects in the dishes.Flavours were not great, and while the portions were decent it was mostly noodles as filler. While it filled us up and lunch was at decent price. This was not a place to get my viet fix.

It's been a long time since I've been here to eat. During COVID it's been shut down because of not enough customers and the construction in the parking lot blocking the back entrance. But, now it's open again and I'm glad they are. Food is as good as when I last came over 2 years ago and service is fast and friendly! Just remember that you have to enter from inside the mall... Enjoy!

Food is horrible. Order Bun with spring roll and grilled pork. The Vermicelli were so soft that a ninety year old can eat. No need to chew. The pork was tough. Worst Bun I have eaten bin my lifetime. Sorry wrong place to have Vietnamese food

My family has been coming here since I was a little kid and now I bring my own children. Nice cozy spot for a quick pho bite.

Hard to call what they serve "pho". They don't use vermicelli for noodles, their beef broth is not well flavoured, and they give lemons instead of limes. Seems like they took every shortcut possible in serving pho.

$21 for a plate of plain, wet, oily vermicelli noodles, a few bits of unseasoned pork, 1 single cucumber slice finely chopped and 1 single lettuce leaf finely chopped up with nothing to pour on...the fish sauce is for the spring roll. This dish was so disrespectful. The spring roll alone was amazing, but overall, they should be ashamed of themselves to charge $21 for a dish that's barely worth $5. This was the vermicelli noodles with BBQ pork & spring roll...

Ordered from uber eats so my experience may differ from the norm. Got the special beef combination (pho dac biet), shrimp fresh roll, durian shake, and (spring roll/pork combination vermicelli (bun). The pho was pretty good. Not the best, but better than a few other places I've had. I ordered an extra large but there didn't seem to be a lot of meat. The broth had a nice flavour, but had a much sweeter taste than most. Broth was also rich but a little bit oily. Toppings came with 2 (quarter cut) pieces of beef balls, some tripe, beef brisket, and some 80% already cooked rare beef. The shrimp roll was nice and fresh, but was a little disappointed that it was only shrimp. Most goi cuon usually has sliced pork or beef with it. The sauce was supposed to be peanut hoisin, but I could taste no hint of peanut at all. I think it was just hoisin mixed with water because of how runny it was. The durian shake was okay. Definitely would not order it again. Mild durian flavour, little watery and icy. I think they skipped on the condensed milk because it felt like I was drinking durian flavoured juice. It was missing that thickness and richness that you normally get. The bun was... mediocre. Very underwhelming flavour. Meat was average. Not much selection and topping of veggies. Would not order it again. The spring roll was actually the worst part. It was hard, rubbery and like eating a tire. I can understand soggy because of the time it takes to be delivered, but it was just hard and stale tasting. It was inedible. Overall, it was okay. Don't think I would order again. Definitely don't get the vermicelli bowl. You can tell they're taking short cuts to save money and you can taste it. Skimping on the meat in the pho, no condensed milk in the shake, only using shrimp in the roll, and most likely using old pre-frozen spring rolls. The only saving grace was the pho, which was good, but not good enough to overlook the other shortfalls.

I think the couple who ran this restaurant definitely hate their business and their customers. Very impolite way in talking and serving. And no chopsticks in the takeout order. I love pho but I would never enter this one again.

We have ordered from uber eat. Very bad experience. The pork and spring roll vermicelli had only a few pieces of meat, vegetable is bad and the vermicelli are not even fully cooked. Never order again

In the mid-2000's, I worked in Scarborough for over three years. A bunch of colleagues and I would often drive over to Pho Xe Lua, which is in Woodside Square, for lunch. My usual then is still what I typically get at any pho place, which is the rare beef and beef ball pho. The other day, I was browsing on Uber Eats and saw this restaurant. It is still alive and kicking after all these years! I needed to go back and check it out. On Saturday, I took advantage of its BOGO offers on the app and ordered the following items for takeout: - Deep-fried crispy spring rolls - Grilled pork vermicelli with a spring roll My thinking was that I'd have lunch and dinner taken care of with this order. I got an estimated time of twenty minutes for my order to be ready. I hadn't been to Woodside Square in ages. You used to be able to get to Pho Xe Lua through its own entrance. Sadly, there was construction happening, so it wasn't available. I parked in front of the mall entrance by Osaka Sushi and Bar, and walked in. Although the mall has changed a lot since I was last here, my legs instinctually knew where the restaurant was. It was as if time had stood still. The main entrance to the restaurant looked the same. I walked into the restaurant. It also felt and looked the same. There were tables where a bunch of my colleagues and I would occupy. If we were a smaller group, we all fit in a booth. The skylight that looks like a blue sky on a gorgeous day was still there. I swear that I felt like I was in a time warp! A woman raised her arm at the front counter as I walked over to her. I didn't know if she thought that I was looking for a seat to dine in. I indicated that I had an Uber Eats order. She asked for the order number. I rattled it off. Sure enough, the only order in front of her was mine. She handed it over to me. I thanked her and wished her a good day. I happily headed out of the restaurant and headed to my car. I chowed down for lunch at around 3 pm in my car. The deep-fried spring rolls were indeed crispy. It had mushrooms, pork, taro, and carrots. I got pickled carrots and turnips on the side. They were delicious. The vermicelli also had the same spring rolls, but without the pickled veggies on the side. The only downside to my meal was the dipping sauce. It didn't have all that much flavour, likely because it didn't have fish sauce. If you don't like fish sauce, you'd likely like this sauce. I felt like it needed something to wake up my tastebuds. I got three small containers with the same sauce. It felt a bit wasteful, but I can see that this place was respectful if each item went to a different person. I then had the grilled pork vermicelli. I had forgotten how well this place makes vermicelli. There was so much body to them. So enjoyable to eat. They were done perfectly. The grilled pork was flavourful and perfect. I loved the veggies (cucumbers, carrots, and bean sprouts) and poured the sauce over everything. Again, I felt like I needed more flavour in the sauce, but this dish was yummy. I had the same vermicelli for dinner. Hours later, it still tasted fresh and yummy. I am thrilled that this restaurant is still around after all these years. I vow to return to get my favourite pho, to relive my lunch days here and support a place that has endured over the years. The quality is still yummy, which makes me so happy and relieved! (397)
