The 1 star reviews can be attributed to people's ignorance and lack of knowledge. Nova ristorante is not a scam, it's literally where pizza nova began in 1963 when a family of Italian immigrants, Sam Primucci, and his brothers Mike, Vince, and Joe decided to start an AUTHENTIC Italian restaurant— originating from Palazzo San Gervasio Basilicata, Italy. Their first location opened on May 12, 1963, at the corner of Lawrence Avenue East, just west of Kennedy Road. They expanded into the pizza nova we know and love. This is not a scam by any means. This is 100 percent authentic Italian food, just like all pizza novas are. Educate yourselves before claiming something is a scam.

Ordered a pizza before the store closed for pickup and it’s pretty clear they just reheated a cheese pizza that sat there and threw on some mushrooms. Just cancel the order if you’re gonna give stale burnt pizza. Complete waste of money I wouldn’t even have been upset if they just called and said we don’t have time to make a fresh pizza. Would’ve just got somewhere else that’s open. Complete waste of money.

I was there with my husband... he wanted veal Parmesan and I the chicken Parmesan.. the plate looked nice but we got 2 veal instead... I had restaurants before and I know what chicken looks like we decided not to complain because it took a while for the order...the veal was pounded too very thin and over cooked.. was not that good... the server was very nice but never asked if we like another glass of wine...too bad you have a very nice place

SCAM!! Ordered from UberEats as I had friends over and we wanted to try some new Italian food. It was framed as authentic Italian cuisine. We ended up getting a bunch of boxes of Pizza Nova food. If we had known this was Pizza Nova we wouldn’t have ordered, especially at these prices. So disappointed. DO NOT

I ordered the arancini and the charcuterie board, and my friend ordered the Margherita Pizza. They didn’t seat us for 7 minutes. They gave us a cheese pizza instead of a margherita pizza and they said they “didn’t have fresh basil”. They didn’t even tell us beforehand — we would have ordered something else. Very disappointing because I used to come here a lot. I hadn’t been in the last few years, but I guess the quality and care has gone down the drain. Also the tiramisu was frozen.

We hosted a large group of ~30 people for my son’s birthday with approx half adults and half kids under the age of 8. First, we skated at McGregor Community Center across the street and then went to Nova Ristorante for some food and cake.We went for dinner ahead of time to scout the menu, location, and to plan for the party. We went on a Tuesday, when kids eat free (if adults spend $30, for up to 2 kids). Our server Vessy was so kind and pleasant - she made us and the kids feel right at home. We left detailed instructions for the day of the party, including seating arrangements and preordered food.On the day of the party, I called an hour ahead of our arrival to confirm everything was good to go. The person I spoke with didn’t seem too familiar with the party but assured me it would all be good. When we arrived, they had half the restaurant sectioned off for our group and the tables set us as discussed in advance. Kids were served pizza at the table and adults had salads and pizza buffet-style.The service was excellent and they were very attentive. We ordered more food once we could gauge how much everyone was going to eat and it came out pretty quickly. It seems the restaurant shares a kitchen with Pizza Nova next door and leverages a lot of the same ingredients but has their own unique menu. The pizzas are similar to those of Pizza Nova in terms of crust, sauce and cheese; tasty but nothing super fancy. Our group enjoyed the food and it worked well for the party.Items that were particularly good were the arugula salad and the Basilicata pizza. We brought our own cake and the restaurant provided plates and cutlery to serve with no additional charge. An auto gratuity was applied due to the size of our party. The kids were pretty rambunctious at times, running around, playing hide and seek… the staff were SO patient, and never complained. We were really grateful that they were so understanding. We planned the party for 4pm so it was basically empty and we weren’t bothering other patrons. It was excellent value for the group size and beverages are very reasonably-priced. Many of the parents who attended commented how great the restaurant worked out. We’d highly recommend the restaurant for a low-key weeknight dinner, or for larger group events. The biggest highlight was the wonderful attitude and attentiveness of the staff - that’s not always easy to find, and we will be back to support this business. Thank you for making our party a success!Parking: Parking in the front is more limited, but there is a large parking lot in the back if required.Kid-friendliness: The staff were amazing with the kids both times we’ve been. Very child-friendly.

Ordered Uber from this place but i got the item from Pizza Nova. Guess its a chain of restaurant. If i had known i wouldn’t have ordered. The Pasta was very dry, they dint give the extra sauce on the side. The pasta was not cooked well. I paid extra for Chicken and got some 6 small strips which i cut into small pieces. they were try without any flavours.

Came here for dinner with wife and 2 little boys 10 and 8, and we had a great time. Our server was new but very willing. Food was very fresh and had no issues. Ambience was perfect for a family outing, but was surprised how empty it was (consider that it was raining). One thing I would recommend for them to improve is the size of their pizzas. The kids meal I don't think is enough for anyone over 6 yrs old. So if you have kids older than that I would opt for 10" pizzas.Other than that, we loved it here and will be back.

Good service but shrinkflation is obvious. $20 pasta dishes come with no bread or parmesan, and you get 6 ravioli per serving.
