Honestly this place has been a staple in my family for decades. It has gone through multiple owner changes, but each owner is still as good as the last. The lady at the cash is so sweet though and has a smile on her face and is so pleasant! Price wise the food cannot be beat, it’s extremely filling, possibly even for two people per dish. Try everything on the menu and see what you like, some things are a hit, and some may not be as good as other places so you’ll have to try and see for yourself. As someone else said, the flavour went down a bit, I guess because of inflation and they had to reduce some things. However it’s still amazing and I love this place.

Went there for lunch to order soup noodle with pork chop. The wait time was 30 mins. When I asked her about it, the lady was rude and said I was slowing her down. Food was mediocre.Update to owner's response: a good restaurant will always value their customers feedback and apologize. This is not the case as owner is defensive.1. owner said they're behind after I paid.2. I only followed up twice. First time at 20 mins, they said the food is coming. Second follow up at 30 mins. I asked why soup noodles take 30 mins and if it's not coming that I'll like a refund.They said the pork chop was just fried up. (I'm pretty sure that's a lie because the pork chop would've been piping hot when I ate it. It was room temperature).3. They are stating that they have video evidence that I was in the wrong. Horrible customer service.If there is anything other than an apology after my update, it further proves my point that this owner has no idea how to treat their customers.

Simple northern Chinese dishes for a fair price, in a small but homey miniature foodcourt. Had the mushroom onion pork stirfry over rice (1) and soya sauce green onion deep fried tofu (2) shared with a good friend ?. Pretty tasty and filling for both of us, combined.Lady taking orders was energetic, friendly, and laidback compared to other nearby establishments (Generally, service manners are not a top priority in traditional Chinese, small family-run stores). Accommodated for my buddy's request regarding containers, forgot to return one out of humble mistake. Courteous enough response.Atmosphere can be a bit noisy, and the conversations sometimes obnoxious, but that generally doesn't say much about this eatery or its staff. Plenty of chairs and tables, though a bit dirty. There's a washroom downstairs, but it's gross with mold, has no soap, and its dryer doesn't work. These are side matters, though.❓ VERDICT? -- Good ✔♻️ COME AGAIN? -- Yes ✔Do come prepared if either (1) certain behaviours or (2) facilities' hygiene bother you. These is my favorite Chinese restaurant in a plaza where you can choose different types of Chinese cuisine.The eating area is outdated 1970 style and nd not very clean.I would strongly recommend to eat at home , as sometime you can find homeless people in the eating area.The food price doubled following Covid-19, however the quality of the food did not improved much.The eating area conditions are not Rainbow Food responsibility, but they should take action to renovate.

I've been coming here for years since I moved into this neighborhood. This place has singlehandedly fed me when I had to move during covid and had my home being renovated. The lady is always so kind and the food is top notch!

I love Rainbow Foods. They have saved countless lunches and dinners at our house and the food is so consistently good. Not to mention the lady answering the phone/manning (or womanning the counter) is always super friendly and helpful.We love getting their meal sets which are so well priced for all the food you get. We especially love the complimentary soup that comes with these family meals as they remind us of what my mother in law used to make for us.Rainbow Foods will continue to be a staple in our regular meal planning and I hope to sample more of their gigantic menu soon.

Rainbow foods does one thing really well and it's cheap, fast Chinese food. We ordered some BOGO dishes on Ubereats. They came decently quickly and warm.Food: Ma po tofu on rice. The tofu is decently tender, small pieces of minced pork and a savory spicy sauce on a whole container of rice. 4.5/5.Eggplant with minced pork in spicy sauce on rice. The flavor on this is on point with a nice sweet and hint of spicy sauces. Eggplant is cooked well as is the meat. Sits on a giant bed of rice. 4/5Rice noodles with sliced pork. The rice noodles are cooked well and the sliced pork is incredibly tender. There's bean sprouts and onions and green onions though I feel the onions may have been a tad undercooked. Still for the amount of food and flavor, it's great. 5/5.Price: Each dish came in around 6-7$ which is crazy cheap considering the amount of food you get. Don't expect any super high quality ingredients but this is your cheap and quick takeout that will fill you up.

We tried Rainbow Food for the first time - takeout order - and everything was delicious! Generous portions, affordable prices and all cooked to perfection. Would definitely order again and so glad to have discovered this restaurant.

It's comfort food. Decent taste for a reasonable price. I would like to give 3.5 stars for the price vs quality of food. But since there is no .5. I will give 4. The place is inside the food court/plaza. First time is hard to find.

Amazing!!! I used to go to another restaurant (Shanghai Court in Markham) for Chinese food but they retired. I was searching for a similar place and finally found it. It is everything I like. Friendly service, huge portions (with huge meat), super delicious, fast, and extremely cheap. I will definitely come back and I really hope the owners of the restaurant prosper and continue what they are doing.???
