Samantha Roti & Doubles

Got 2 doubles and a chicken roti for lunch today. Very hearty, very delicious. Reminds me of growing up in Scarborough and the doubles and roti my Guyanese friend's mothers and grandmothers would cook ?

We have ordered here several times within the last couple months. The curry chicken and curry goat with roti is so good. Roti is nice and soft and they give a great amount of meat. The man who answers the phone is very polite and Samantha is so nice !

As a guyanese, I strongly believe that doubles should be made by trinidadians. The Bara was too thick, the cheakpeas was hard and had no flavor. One bite and you'll be chewing for 5 mins, and good luck trying to digest those hard chickpeas.

Worst experience with the gilbaka curry, it was so stale and had no salt, as well as it was not washed properly, I just took one bite and threw all the food out, disgusting are my chosen words, you have been warned.

I ordered a chicken roti, it was very tasty but TOO MUCH potato! The filling was about 40% chicken and 60% potato! I realize meat prices are up but I would prefer to pay a little more and have the ratio be 80% meat and 20% potato or no potato at all! Also, the Roti is folded in about six layers so that you're mostly getting Roti and potato. If I order a chicken filling, I expect more chicken.

I tried the chicken chow mein and chicken roti at this spot today, and I must say they were delicious. My only feedback is that the chow mein noodles were a bit dry, but other than that, everything was great. The owner Samantha is very friendly and provides excellent customer service. 4.6/5

Store was nice and clean Samantha was friendly, I ordered a doubles and it was not tasty, the Barra (bread) was very stiff/hard and thick and the condiments was basic, sweet sauce and hot sauce that was watery. Samantha take this as constructive criticism, you have to do research on doubles before you venture out to make and sell, it was a complete fail. Sorry but it's the truth and there is alot of other places with proper doubles. I wish you all the best as I know it's a new business

I was looking for a new place to go for good roti and food and found this place today. First of all the place is so clean, I could see the kitchen. The lady behind the counter was extremely friendly. I tried a roti and then ordered six more, ready in ten minutes. So much better than another place where you can place an order and are told to pick it up in 30 minutes, but when you get there you have to wait forever for your order to be ready. My family and I have found a new place to go. Their food is delicious too. Definitely worth the trip.
