Some Chip's were cooked to perfection others were barely cooked & soggy. 1 of halibut pcs were thin 3/4pc like paper thin. Coleslaw was more soup then creamy. Taste was decent on all 3 just need to make some improvements on consistency/prep.
Cannot compare to what this place use to be like.
Recently my partner & I had the haddock fish & chips.
The batter on my portion (in parts) undercooked.
The fries were blan in taste. Left for you to add whatever seasoning. A shake of salt immediately after taken from fryer would have made the difference.
I believe the excess batter was not shaken off and therefore more cooking time would be required.
After looking forward to enjoying we can only say left disappointed.
did takeout .. Other than the fish being rubbery .. was ok ... fries were excellent .. service was excellent...
Had much better Halibut fish quality at the halibut house except I think they cook in low quality oil = indigestion... good going in but comes back on you.
... no indigestion from St. Andrews Food but Halibut fish seems low quality and rubbery ( emphasize RUBBERY )... disappointed ... everyone in my family agrees.
I was hoping they were better.
Horrible place. Got 3 cod and chips. Gave me small leftover pieces full of batter. Two of the pieces were rubbery and had gone bad, probably two weeks old. How can you serve bad fish. I would never go there again.
Had haddock and chips for delivery. I loved the haddock super tasty! The fries were a bit dry but I'm a French fry lover I rate harder. Fries were still okay. Definitely would recommend 👌
So me and my wife were just at St Andrews and my wife inquired about what beer they had and after the hostess telling her what they had my wife said of no I'm ok. The hostess then brought a Harp draught to the table and says here you go is this what you asked for. We both looked at each other with confusing as she never asked for it but my wife being who she is she took it anyway because she didn't want the hostess to feel anyway. But what I was really dumbfounded about was that the beer which I remind you was a draught beer was $11.95 for a pint which to me was outrageous. I'm sorry but not a good experience mind you the food was still decent at best. Will we returned probably not. But this is just my review and my thoughts.
Good ..a must try
really nice waiter and very generous would recommend on a hungry day
Been ordering through Uber eats for maybe the past 8-10 years lol. Never been to the location but the fish and chips 👍 always fresh, crispy, hot, real authentic fish and chips!
