This place is a vibe !!! Been curious to try for 2 years now and finally went in and damn it did not disappoint ! First off it’s a vibe ! Very authentic feels authentic and I love that ! Then came the food … ordered the combo with beef rice plantain 🤤what a unique flavor spiced just right and smoky but a nice smoke I can’t describe it … feels like the heart of Africa gave me a hug 😂I loved it def will go back and have already told my buddies . Also the portions are big! EASY 5* and special thanks to the lady at the front who was helping me as a new customer 🔥🔥🔥ohhh the hot sauce HIT THE SPOT
I always order the beef suya and it's so flavorful. Whenever i get a craving, it just hits the spot, each time. I noticed that the beef is now much more tender which is great. Their plantain is the best, so soft, sweet and perfectly cooked. The hot sauce is the bomb (literally, lol) so I take it on the side instead of mixed in.
I ordered twice to give them a fair chance, but both times the ‘suya’ tasted nothing like traditional Nigerian suya. The flavour was completely off, the texture was unpleasant, and overall it didn’t reflect what suya should taste like. Disappointing experience.
Where did the peanut soup go??????? 😭 The food is excellent, would like the the portions to match the price just a bit more. . . On a serious note, no peanut soup??
I wish I could give this place a higher rating because the food tastes great. I ordered the Beef Suya Combo w/ Jollof rice. The flavours were great, first time having both dishes and they were really tasty. Rice had a smokiness and slight spice and the beef was really well seasoned with good salt levels. Their hot sauce is very spicy (coming from someone with a high spice tolerance) and if I was to get this again I would ask for it to be on the side rather than tossed onto the meat.
Had to dock 2 stars for reasons unrelated to flavour.
First price, for a meat and rice meal paying over $30 all in seems quite high, even though the portion was solid I don't think I would pay $30 for a single person takeout meal again. That being said i don't know how labor intensive the recipe is so this isn't as big of a deal.
The main issue I had with my order was the grease/oil. I ordered delivery and the food was delivered in a brown paper bag. The drink was placed inside the bag. There was so much oil that my drink can was completely covered in oil when I took it out. Even after taking out the food from the bag, there was a puddle of oil that pooled on my table just from the remnants that were left in the bag. The takeout container with the food was no better. As tasty as the food was, I could not finish the meal and had to stop not even halfway through. There was a large pool of oil underneath the rice, enough to the point that even after mixing up the rice it was oversaturated and oil remained pooled underneath and it became unappetizing at some point. I would really consider giving this place another shot if an improvement could be made to this issue.
Reallly gooood food. The young lady at the front was very nice and they pack the food very well. 5/5
I placed an order online on Wednesday 21st May pickup time for 8:30pm
I got to the store and it was locked
Waited 45 minutes
Kept calling the store line but no response
Why collect payment when store is closed?
I need a refund
Nowhere to sit. Take out only.
I usually don’t leave reviews, but I feel this experience needs to be shared so management is aware.
Today, I placed an order and received a call from the store confirming that it was ready. I rushed over, expecting a quick pickup. When I arrived, there was one customer ahead of me, which I completely understood and was willing to wait.
However, when another staff member came to the counter, I began asking about my order—since it had already been prepared over an hour ago. That’s when one particular staff member (who rudely told me she couldn’t pronounce her name when I asked) abruptly interrupted and ordered me to stop speaking to the other staff member. Her tone and approach were unprofessional and completely unnecessary, especially since I was just trying to retrieve an order I had already been contacted about.
Thankfully, the other staff member kindly helped me and even asked me not to leave a negative review because it might affect the team. And I get that—some of the staff here are hardworking and dedicated. But when poor behavior is not addressed, it sends the wrong message, and the same staff will assume that rudeness is acceptable simply because no one says anything.
I traveled all the way from North to East just to buy from this location, and I was shocked by the way I was treated. One rude experience can leave a lasting impression, no matter how good the food or product is.
Management needs to consider placing reasonable and patient people at the front counter—not staff who lack basic courtesy and customer service skills.
I wish I could give this restaurant 0 stars. I visited them to order suya, and to my surprise, they gave it to me without the suya spice. When I went back the next day to complain, they casually told me they didn’t have the spice. How do you even serve suya without the suya spice? If they were out of it, the least they could have done was inform me when I placed my order. This level of carelessness is unacceptable, and I would never recommend this place.

I would like to start off by saying I am african American descendant from slaves in America for over 400 years. I stopped by to try african food and I couldn't believe what happened after tasting this dish called red red and beef. There was a sound of ? playing african beat after eating the most delicious food that I could ever imagine eating. My soul left me for a moment and it took me back to Africa on a beautiful beach seeing my beautiful black princess, Queens and princess and king celebrating eat and dancing with great food from the Suya Spot. The food that will take you places with each delicious bite.
