I ordered the stinky tofu at waterfront Taiwanese festival. The tofu was definitely over fried. Popcorn chicken was good.

Ordered the stinky tofu for take-out, they were dried as a brick. I’ve had it years ago and it wasn’t like that at all.

Its great Taiwanese food but best for take away as the restaurant itself is super hot to sit in. The lady taking the order was polite but couldn't speak nor understand English well so had to repeat a couple of times. Food is fresh and yummy. Ask for the hotsauce it is separate but very good.

Saw this place on TikTok and was in the area. Really great deal was around $12 for one meat + 3 side dishes. The eggplant was my fave thing in the box. Popcorn chicken was good but wish it was less breaded

Taste good
Hands down THE BEST TAIWANESE FOOD I've ever had in Toronto!
I went to college in LA and they had A LOT of amazing Taiwanese food over there. I was completely spoiled. After I moved to Toronto, I tried so many so-called Taiwanese restaurants but all are pretty disappointing. Until a few years ago I moved to Scarborough and found Wei's. Their food brings back the good memories of my younger days.
Especially the stinky tofu. It's hard to find this kind of stinky tofu nowadays. Many places only have the other kinds (e.g. black ones, ones with fermented tofu sauces etc). THIS stinky tofu is what I live for since I was a kid. It's the most similar to stinky tofu in Hong Kong. My mom and I can't stop sniffing the tofu, lol, what a ASMR!
Their lunchbox combos are also absolutely tasteful. I especially love how they match different side dishes with different boxes. Once I ordered 3 lunchboxes and each of them had different side dishes. It's this kind of details that keep us coming back for more.
Oh, and the fried oyster pan cake. My goodness, I've never had one this good since I left LA. Thank you!

I have a fond memory of Wei's Taiwanese Foods... lining up in sweltering summer heat at night markets in my teens waiting for their epic stinky tofu, and doing that again year after year until I got to the point I no longer enjoy such crowds.
While I may no longer frequent these night markets, I make sure to order Wei's when we're craving authentic Taiwanese food. There's a sense of nostalgia for me when I taste their popcorn chicken and of course the stinky tofu, but there's also a satisfaction from the taste of home cooking - something I enjoy tremendously. I see some reviews stating they find the food bland, but I found each side dish in my bento and mains to be *almost* too salty for my liking, and more often than not, seasoned to perfection. I enjoy the ingredients being showcased by their natural tastes and not ridden with sauces and seasonings. The price points are so fair too in today's economy. I find myself wishing I lived closer, but Uber Eats shall do.
There's a weird feeling that few establishments can achieve which is their food being akin to mother's cooking. Now it may not be one mother, if at all (though I do remember the friendly mother and son duo back in my night market outings), but their food tastes like it's made out of love, and I can't be more happy than to continue supporting them. My love affair for this place started in my teens and I'm pretty sure it'd continue for as long as they're in business and cooking their delicious dishes!
Don't go. You spent money to buy an inedible lunch box. It stinks when you go in. It's dirty because it's not hygienic. I thought it was authentic Taiwanese food.

We went there reading review how good the stinky tofu. We order it and it wasn’t so stinky as I expected. If super stinky is 5, this is only a 2. Although the cabbage on top of stinky tofu was great, delicious. Perhaps if they served the cabbage and the brown sauce the stinky tofu would be hotter in temperature.i don’t think I will go there again. We love hole in the wall, if food isn’t good, no go
