The is a hidden gem in Shelburne that everyone NEEDS to know about. The entire experience took us back to France. Food was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS and TOP NOTCH!!! Atmosphere is so down to earth and real, we loved it so much. We highly recommend Beyond the gate, it is worth the drive for sure.

I travel a lot for work by car in Ontario. I like to look for restaurants that aren’t part of a restaurant chain. I stumbled upon beyond the gate and I loved it. The restaurant is small six tables and a very comforting atmosphere. Nice music was playing while the smells from the kitchen took hold I was only stopping for lunch and had no reservation. The corn chowder was amazing and the queso fundido was perfect and very filling. I immediately sent messages to several friends who passed through occasionally. A dinner reservation is required to give the chef ample notice to prepare and have on hand fresh fruit. I can’t say enough good things about the lunch I just had..

Randomly picked a little town coming from Saugeen beach, stopped at this beautiful restaurant with my partner. Looks like family owned nice business. Food was delicious, tasted fresh and made with love literally :D. 100% recommended, for sure will stop by for the good food every time we pass by.

Took my parents for their 50th wedding anniversary and we had an amazing experience. Food is fabulous and locally sourced, Chef Freddy was kind enough to come out and meet us. Must experience the ambiance. Will return, thanks to everyone at Beyond the Gate

Truly excellent food and a very nice chef. My wife and I stopped here for a lunch break on our way to the Bruce Peninsula. It was recommended to us by a friend, but we were still surprised by how great everything tasted. Next time we go up, we will definitely stop here again.

This was an absolute gem of a restaurant. A friend recommended it as a stop for lunch en route to Georgian Bay. It was beyond all expectations! First of all, the owner and chef is full of wit, stories, and culinary gifts. The conversation was probably the best appetizer! As for the food, it rivaled and beat any restaurant in any international city. Fresh, surprising, and completely delicious! Thank you for a jovial afternoon pause. We look forward to visiting again and sampling the wines! (And a rematch on the trivia games!). Merci!
