Not impressed with the way the manager responded to a request to get a refund on a missing item in my recent order. It was declined instantly, not even an appolgy was made regarding the understanding mistake made and the attitude that was given and poor word choices were hideously resolved to no correction made. So unfortunate 😕

Aside from that experience, I do really enjoy the fries and chicken strips 🍟 😋

The man that is usually there to take my order is very efficient and has great customer service!

I had one of the strangest and most uncomfortable experiences at this Wendy’s location in Simcoe. I walked in wearing a shirt that said “Israel is a terrorist entity” — and from the moment I stepped up to the counter, the energy in the room shifted.

The cashier who was supposed to be at the front was cleaning tables. The woman working the drive-thru was standing with another staff member, chatting and watching me as I stood waiting to be served. They both saw me but said nothing. After a long, awkward pause, the drive-thru employee slowly walked over, stood directly in front of me without saying a word, and just stared. I held her gaze until she finally said, “Hi, how can I help you?” Her tone made it clear she didn’t want to.

Before even taking my order, she asked the other girl for her code to log in, as if trying to find a reason to avoid dealing with me. When the other girl came over, the drive-thru employee awkwardly stepped aside and said, “Oh, did you want to take this?” and walked away — like she couldn’t get away fast enough.

The second girl started taking my order. She was polite enough, but her energy was tense — almost performative. She asked my name, and I hesitated before answering because I was still processing the interaction that just happened. I said “Jasmine,” which wasn’t even the name I meant to say. She proceeded with the order, took my payment, and then, before putting it together, went all the way to the back.

From where I stood, I could see her stop and talk to another worker who was preparing food. She stayed there for about a minute, almost as if she was waiting for something. When she finally came back, she started bagging up my food — and that’s when a manager appeared. Clipboard in hand, the manager came right to the counter area and stood close enough to “supervise,” pretending to be doing paperwork while clearly watching me. She looked over multiple times, and it was obvious her real focus wasn’t her notes — it was me.

My order was supposed to be to-go, but the girl prepared it for dine-in instead. When she brought it over, she asked if I wanted a straw. I told her no, then said, “Actually, this was to-go.” She apologized and said, “Oh my god, sorry,” and I tried to make the moment lighter by saying, “It’s okay, maybe I was distracted,” and gave a small laugh. She didn’t respond. She just looked uncomfortable, avoided eye contact, and moved on as quickly as she could.

I wore sunglasses the entire time, which shouldn’t matter — but judging by their reactions, even that seemed to make them uneasy. I wasn’t loud, rude, or demanding. I simply existed in a way they clearly didn’t expect.

All of the employees involved were white, and their collective discomfort was palpable — the kind of quiet, guarded unease that happens when someone’s presence challenges the invisible comfort zone they’re used to. I came in for food, not to be profiled, stared at, or quietly monitored. My shirt shouldn’t determine how I’m treated as a paying customer.

Whatever personal or political biases your staff hold have no place in customer service.

Went to your drive thru was worst Wendy's I have been to. Girl was definitely not a happy employee she got ordee wrong. Bought meal with chicken sandwich. Was soggy and pickle which we didn't ask for soaked right thru sandwich making it soggy and all my husband could taste was pickle. Fries were cold even though I ordered cheese tacos and not fries. We also ordered taco salads and both were a disappointing experience. The lettuce was old and bad. I spent almost $40 and I may as well have thrown it away because that's what happened to the food. I have bought Wendy's salads in the past and have never got ones that were so bad. Usually lettuce is crisp and fresh these were soggy and limp and brown. Won't be back

Went through the drive through. Whoever was at the speaker was rude and ultimately ended up getting what should’ve been a simple order wrong. Really left with the impression the staff hated their jobs as the girl at window was the opposite of friendly. Totally messed up the order and didn’t realize till we got home. Very disappointed and will not return.
