I love this place for not only the atmosphere, the staff, but also for the daily homemade soup. Always delicious.

Stopped for lunch while visiting Smiths Falls. Had breaded hot wings, they were perfectly cooked and delicious! Service was excellent and the experience was top notch.

Was in Smith's Falls a bit unintentionally on a Wednesday and was looking for a place to eat so ended up here. It seems like a locals pub but not in a bad way. There are plenty of booths and tables and there are a lot of TV's showing sports and the patio looked nice (it was raining so we didn't sit there). The service was friendly and prompt, we were able to eat, plus a drink each in under an hour and the food was good. I had fish and chips that was solid but not spectacular, the fish was tasty but the batter was a bit meh, but it was accompanied by a generous portion of fries. My wife had a burger that she said was excellent, well seasoned and cooked perfectly with a good amount of cheese and bacon. All in all a pleasant place to eat.

Went on a Saturday night and were rushed out a good amount of time before closing simply because the staff wanted to go home early (full-ish restaurant, not just us). If there isnt a band, the music selection isnt great and plays a lot of sad songs that put me in a bad mood while trying to enjoy my evening. The food is not bad but overpriced, less of a selection on the menu than your local fast food place. The bar also does not serve shots ? Not sure what happened there. We also had to diligently defend our food from flies.
Dave is a real one tho

A great place for food and drinks. The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. They have a nice patio area facing the water, which makes for a nice outdoor meal or drinks. They have live bands play here as well on some weekends which makes for a nice night out.

There is an old saying, "There's two grades of smoke meat sandwitches: Montreal smoke meat and Montreal style smoked meat", implying a vast difference in the caliber between the two. Clearly noted on the Rob Roy menu is "Montreal Style Smoke Meat", so props to them, they were up front about it. Their "World Famous Twister Wings" were OK, although 8 average-sized wings and little container of sour cream at $20 seemed a little much, especially paired with $9 Coors Light tall boys. In fairness, I suspect that is likely the price for beer at pubs these days.
The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is warm and it's a nice place to watch a live band. If you have a chance to see "The Reminants" live, do it. They're fricken awesome. Just eat before going :)

The food was presented very well and it actually tasted good. The only problem I had was the food was not as hot as I expected it to be like it had sat on the plate longer than it should have before it was served to us. That particular night there was only one waitress serving the restaurant although it was not that busy. The waitress did the best she could getting to everybody. All in all I would go back there the food tasted great. We both have the special of the day which happened to be a hamburger with French fries and on the hamburger we had extra bacon and such it was quite good. They have an outside seating area and live entertainment on certain days of the week. The outside seating area overlooks the canal at the bottom of the locks so it's quite a nice view. I am giving it a 4 star only because of the food not being hot.
Dietary restrictions: I asked the waitress, if they can prepare and serve gluten-free food as my wife is a celiac. She mentioned that while the options are not as much as the regular menu however they do take the gluten-free aspect very seriously and make sure they clean the food preparation area. My wife has not experienced this restaurant just yet but we will give it a try.
