I had passed Umami Express many times and I am SO happy that I finally had a moment to stop there last week (I have since ordered takeout again)!
The portions are big, the food is delicious. The two people I spoke to there were both kind and friendly. The food was made quickly, and I loved looking at all their decorations as I waited. The woman working that day made great recommendations to me. This is absolutely a hidden gem for people visiting St. Catharines (and locals too)!

Its appreciated to have such a restsurant in St. Catharines. Unexpected but appreciated. There is no chinese store here, so when i found Korean snack and Hapanese and Korean food in one place, I just loved it. I will definetly go back and try everything on the menu.

The food is always delicious! The owners are always so kind, happy and polite- a wonderful young couple. I love the place and every time I’m near on a Friday, you can be sure I’m having the ramen of the day!!!

Lovely cozy place with lots of Japanese and Korean dishes/items to choose from! Love the Sukiyaki don I ordered!! Absolutely worth a visit if you are in the area!

The owner is extremely welcoming, kind and such a sweetheart! We opened up our own business next door and ever since then I have been regularly coming over for food and treats. I absolutely love the food they make. It’s always made fresh and is such great value. The owner and staff always go above and beyond for everyone! I would highly recommend this place to anyone that is looking for super yummy Japanese/Korean food. :)

Unbelievably great food. I've been to hundreds of Korean and Japanese fusion restaurants all over Niagara and the GTA. For the price, this place is unbeatable. And the young lady running it is also lovely. Try any curry. Any dish really. Miso soup is great. And she made tonkatsu ramen as a special.......amazing.....I wish it was a standard on the menu.
