Bolete Restaurant And Catering

I mean it was mediocre at best. I was there with a party of 5 for my birthday. The place had a few tables occupied yet it took an hour to get our main dish
2 of the people from our party got an appetizer 25~min into the reservation. The waiter brought the bread to the whole/rest of the table a couple min before we got the main dishes. I mean that didn’t make sense. Why would t you bring the bread to the table at the same time when 2 people ordered the appetizer.
Next, dishes themselves. They honestly were ok at best. My friend’s risotto & chicken were cold. After he expressed that to one of the waiters (after being asked how’s the food), the waiter just went on to explain that the risotto’s texture is different from a classic rice risotto. They also asked my friend if he wants chicken to be warmed up… It’s $40 for a dish. No, with all due respect, we don’t want it warmed up. That wasn’t the problem with the dish. The chicken was dry & colder than a Russian’s heart.
Additionally, my friend ordered a steak dish. We were never asked how we want the steak cooked. Major no go for an establishment

We went to bolete to enquire about catering the staff was wonderful. Chef Andrew took a lot of time to prepare a quote and make suggestions although we didn't ultimately pick them they would have been able to accommodate us on short notice and our requests. The food looked great so we plan to dine there soon when we are not busy and stressed with the upcoming event. Thank you.

Great quality food, casual fine dining. Definitely a craft atmosphere, with attention to detail in the food, cocktails, and service. I will be back for sure.

The food was absolutely incredible. One of my new favorite restaurants and will definitely visit again! Everything was delicious but my favorites were the duck and seared octopus.

We went to Bolete for a special occasion dinner and the service and food did not disappoint. The server was very personable and did her best job to make sure that everything was superb. We enjoyed the warm olives and hummus platter to start our meal. Then had the chicken supreme and lobster pasta. The portions were perfect - enough that you were able to enjoy the dish, without feeling stuffed or that you had over indulged. If you are there early enough they did have some drink and appetizers specials that were for before 6 pm.

I can honestly say this is the best meal I have had in Ontario. Straight forward, honest, and all things amazing. The food speaks for itself in that you almost feel guilty enjoying these dishes without wearing a tuxedo. The staff is extremely welcoming and the unassuming chef really just wants you to enjoy the meal. Hands down the best place for a special occasion or an office function, they really do fire on all cylinders. Thank you, Bolete. You will see us very soon!

Amazing food and service! The perch tempura is a must try.

Got the Beet Salade which was unique and tasty. Friends meals looked great. Prices are up there (my salad was 18) but the quality of the ingredients was there.

Server was very well attentive and polite, great all around. Music wasn't loud (for an older gentleman) and the wine selection was extensive. Definitely recommend this place if you are celebrating or want a better dinner experience

This place is always a surprise, menu changes often. The food and cocktails blow you away. Just delicious. Service is always top tier

Six of us had a great celebration dinner last Friday. Andrew and his staff provided great food and a nice lad back atmosphere. We have never been disappointed dinning at Bolete!

We visited Bolete this weekend and had an incredible experience. We ordered the tuna tataki and duck breast, and both dishes were absolutely delicious – perfectly prepared and full of flavor. The service was excellent as well – attentive and friendly without being intrusive. We highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience in St. Catharines!
