Charleys Cheesesteaks

I eat here about once a month, and it's usually good. I stood in line at 10:45am Sat January 3rd for a sandwich and I observed the person pull out the frozen bricks of raw chicken with plastic gloves on, and then put them on the grill. She then continued putting veggies and other stuff on the grill using tongs. This is all fine until the next step.... Keeping the SAME gloves that had raw chicken on them, she then handled a bun, condiments and everything else to do final assembly of the sandwich for customer. GROSS. Review your video, you will see. I instantly got out of line. Screw that. I'm immune-compromised and don't need to be sick with salmonella. I was going to let it go, but I would feel horrible if there were an outbreak of illness and I said nothing. You need to review your standards and police your employees. This is very wrong. If I'm answered and shown accountability here, I will reconsider this one-star, but I'm not seeing a lot of that in these reviews.

Underwhelming. Sub was about $20 and I guess I expected better. The philly cheesesteak had no flavor and the onions were basically raw.

The older man (only one not in work uniform, assuming manager or owner) had a pretty negative attitude and made me feel like an inconvenience for asking for my food to go because he had to move it from a paper tray to a container. I guess he didnt feel like reading the order screen where I had ordered takeout.

I also noticed the vents up top have grease dripping from them onto everything below, which borderline seems like a health concern. I remember seeing this the last time I ordered from here several months ago.

You can’t go wrong with a nice simple Philly cheesesteak. The customer service is top tier and efficient. The way the chef chops up your steak right in front of your eyes is mesmerizing and every time I take a bit of my cheesesteak I think of getting seconds it’s so good!!!!!!!!

Out of every single food court restaurant at any mall I’ve ever been to, this is hands down the top 3 places I’ve eaten at. And it’s not 3 or 2. Just the best.

The staff here were so nice and sweet! It was a lady and a gentleman working I didn’t catch or notice their names but they were so sweet! And dinner was delicious! 🤤. Good job guys keep up the good work! I even went back to tell them how delicious it was!

I used to love eating here but dont know what happened to cause this place to go downhill. I made an order a few weeks ago, drove all the way from port colborne to get it. Asked for no peppers no tomato as I am allergic, got all the way home just to find it was loaded with extra peppers and tomatoes. I called and talked to someone claiming to be a manager saying they were going to take down my info and the owners would call me to make things right. To no surprise I never heard back... tried calling again and was told they were busy and someone would get back to me. If youre going to order here triple check your order before you leave.

My experience at Charley’s Philly Steaks in PenCenter was not good. I ordered fries for my daughter to dine in and asked if I could have a to-go box in case she didn’t finish her food. The older lady with blonde hair and glasses gave me attitude and said I should’ve asked earlier. She complained that I wasted two containers and threw the paper tray in the trash slowly, making a point of it. What an attitude. I will never go back again.

For an eatery in a mall food court, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better one than this. The food is delicious overall (albeit a bit simple, but again, it's fast food in a food court), but the real highlight is the service - the two ladies who served me were incredibly friendly and cheerful, and they made the experience that much better. If you're in the Pen Centre and feeling a mite peckish, this is your place!

This is usually our go to spot in the food court when we’re visiting the Pen Centre. 😬My fiancé gets their Philly Cheesesteak and I get the Chicken Philly. It’s been consistent every time we’ve gone.

There’s a middle-aged woman that’s usually at the cash (and tending to the fries in the fryer) and she’s so sweet! Service with a smile every single time. 😊

The ONLY reason I put a one star for the atmosphere is because it’s in a mall and it gets way too busy and overwhelming for me. No fault of their own.

We’ll definitely be back for more when we return to the Pen Centre 😎

I have eaten so many sandwiches in my life, but today I probably had the best one. Their steak is really delicious. We ate that one with fries and lemonade, and that sandwich was absolutely amazing.

I had an absolutely amazing experience at this location today. I know, you're thinking, this guy doesn't get out much eh? Amazed in a mall food court, ordering fast food?

I get out, a lot, actually. I'm in a service business and really recognize the effort it takes to offer a superior client experience, especially when it's a fast paced public environment like a busy food court at lunchtime. Thank you Joanna, for the cheerful service and attention to detail. I was there for less than 10 minutes but you stood out and made an impression.

Joanna and Steph go above and beyond every time I go. If I’m visiting the food court and either are working I’m going there even if I’m craving something else. They have such great customer service and go above and beyond for their customers. 10 out of 10 service.

I have had the privilege of having real cheese steaks before. Let me be clear by saying nothing in the area comes close, but there are a couple places I am willing to settle for. This is one, (the other being Franks). In my heart I know they are not great here, it is a chain so I guess my bar is lower, but I love them. It seems like a guilty pleasure getting them here, and I always enjoy them. Have a realistic expectation when ordering from here, and I think most will enjoy too!

I can't believe I paid $20.61 for a regular cheese steak combo. First of all, the sandwich it self was small, I asked for everything on it, couldn't taste the onions(very little onions) there was 3-4 pieces (very small) of green peppers, barley any lettuce and 2 slices of tomatoes. If you are going to charge these kind of prices STOP cutting back on your items, when a customer opens or bites into their sandwich, they want to see or taste the items they requested.The best thing was the fries............maybe because it was made while I waited for my sandwich.Never again!!!
