Wanted a diner breakfast experience away from Niagara. Found Early Bird in St. Catherine's. This place IS happiness. From the bright green, yellow and orange paint to the fresh fruit table covers to the happy server, everything is centered around enjoying their delicious food. I ordered eggs over easy with ham and rye toast. Partner: Eggs benny with bacon. Fruit bowl had 9 varieties of perfectly fresh fruit. Both meals excellent - arrived hot and quick as ordered. Thanks to the talent chef!

My go to breakfast spot if I'm feeling a nice local place. A lot of good options here. Very considerate for allergies. Early bird special or all Inn, pulled pork poutine, and the burger on lettuce are my favorites. Some of the options are a little heavy (greasy) but the flavors are good.

Food was really good, good portions and flavorful. I felt the potatoes were a bit too salty but non the less the rest of the meals were soo delicious... we will definitely go back when we pass Niagara Falls

The cashier wasn’t very friendly when I went to pick up my order. I had two different meals with potatoes, and both tasted old and were heavily overseasoned (possibly with paprika). The toast was barely toasted and had a stale taste, almost like it was made the day before. I also didn’t notice any iced coffee options available.

Great value for money.
Was a group of 14 and the general consensus was wow!!!
Would highly recommend this spot for a great breakfast!
Very friendly staff!
Only reason why not 5 stars is the limited parking.
Can get noisy in here but could still have a conversation.

We arrived and were seated at 10:39 (I know because half of us arrived first, we sat down around 10:40). Yes, it was very busy—it was Good Friday. We got our drinks reasonably quickly, around 10:45 or so because they had already ordered the drinks. But we didn’t put our food order in until 11:13. Is that a normal amount of time to wait before even taking our food order?

At 11:45, we asked what was taking so long, and our server said the ticket only said 25 minutes. Does that mean our order wasn’t put in right away? We didn’t get our food until 11:55—right before we were about to leave.

My order was wrong, but I didn’t want to change it because I was too hungry to wait again. Then, halfway through eating, I found a grey hair in my eggs, a replacement was offered but by that point I was just done.

Look, I get that things happen—maybe they were short-staffed, maybe it was just a bad day. What really bothered me was the lack of apology or ownership. In my opinion, if a customer has a concern, it should be acknowledged with an attempt to make it right—not brushed off with excuses.

The only apology I heard was given to the last person to get their meal—a 9-year-old girl. They did comp my meal because of the hair, which I appreciated, and gave us a 2-for-1 coupon “if we want to come back,” in our server’s words.

But honestly, it just didn’t feel like enough. We were a group of 10, some of us, semi-regulars, I don’t believe any of us will be back.

Average to average+ quality food, average portions, great for kids, attentive servers, fairly priced, strong coffee.

Choosing to eat as the Early bird for breakfast is an easy choice - consistent, predictable, and always delicious.

Highly recommend for those lazy Sunday mornings where you just need to get out of the house!

We are a family of 10. We arrived at the restaurant at 10:39 am. We didn't have our order taken until 11:10 am. Our waitress didn't enter our order in until 11:25. The restaurant was not full, it was busy, but there were still tables available throughout. We didn't get our food until 11:55 am. The waitress never once came to our table to apologize for the wait. Even after we got our food, she never apologized for it taking so long. My sisters order was wrong and there was a hair embedded in her omelette. Multiple tables around us came and went before we got our food. We are locals, and will never go there again nor will we recommend this restaurant to anyone.
