Good fish and chips plus more place in St Cath. Unique that you can choose the batter to your liking, we chose Japanese and it was good. Lightly battered all around and fried just right around the flaky filet. The coconut shrimp are good too fried well enough that you can eat the whole thing including the tail. The takeout specials are a good value. We didn't get any utensils with our take out order though but that's minor.
Food was okay. Server was super nice. First impressions? Meh. Their menus are printed on a piece of paper on a clipboard, font is worn out, wrinkled and dirty. Never seen that before. It was dead inside, no customers at all. They do need to bring the place up to Canadian standards. When it's not busy, go sweep out the cob webs in the corners, clean the windows and ledges, put air fresheners in bathrooms so it doesn't smell so bad. And, the server though friendly, was...
I do not have a clue why this restaurant has bad reviews. They have amazing lightly battered haddock. The fish tacos are delish ( perhaps a little heavy on the sauce but just ask for less) . Don’t get me started on the homemade dumpling because they are fantastic. The lady ( one of owners) is so personable & love love her dumplings. Don’t listen to these reviews. There maybe a language barrier & perhaps that is the issue but the food sorry it is so worth it.
