For a long time, this was my favourite vegan restaurant of all time. I’ve found the quality has become variable over the years, as well as the portion sizes (last time I ordered the seitan wings it came with 4 pieces).

Still rating it 5 stars out of good faith and conviction that it can and will return to its former glory.

NUT ALLERGIES, BEWARE. I loved everything about this place. My friend and I sat there appreciating the art and ambience while we waited for our promptly served food. I had a transcendent experience with flavour that night. However, my friend poisoned herself with cashews because we did not read the menu properly. We can laugh about it now.

Really good vegan food place in Niagara region. Loved the butternut squash soup along with the vanilla cheese cake. Heather (owner) provided awesome service. When my son didn’t like the cheese quesadilla (because the cheese was melting), she readily removed it from the bill and got us an alternative dish.

Definitely will recommend this place!

This is my favorite restaurant in the world I always get the seitan wings. The cheese cake is out of this world. My son LOVES the Mac and cheese.

A 10/10 must stop foodie restaurant. We enjoyed 1) the gobbler: a vegan spin on a thanksgiving sandwich with gravy for dipping and 2) the halloumi hot honey sandwich: a vegan hot grilled halloumi cheese with pesto and tofu bacon jam with greens. Both of our dishes were excellent for taste, texture, and presentation. Thank you Heather for hosting us and answering all our menu questions. So many choices and styles of dishes here at Rise Above. Truly a must stop shop! We will be returning tomorrow for a homemade vegan pumpkin cheesecake.

Very friendly with nice options and good food.

So good!!! Special of the day was a peach jalapeño grilled cheese. I was incredulous of the combination but my husband ordered it. It was surprisingly amazing. I got the BLT with bacon jam. Messy but so tasty!

Was impressive vegan/ gluten free menu. However when I went (celiac) their gluten free fryer was down.

The gluten free meals without deep frying tasted ok. Despite the meal being “ok” I went back to try a snickers gluten free brownie…Which was very think- almost like a thick sugary fudge.
After the meal with my family I came back in to get the gf brownie thing. I was given the wrong flavour which I noticed was the wrong flavour once I walked back to my car. I walked back to the restaurant to take back the wrong flavour. When I came by the guy took back the incorrect one, and provided me with the wrong flavour.

Feel like there was room of improvement for the gluten free meals— whoever may be better options when the deep fryer is working.

Bathroom didn’t seem accessible to those who could not do stairs.

On the plus side, it was truly gluten free food which was very appreciated.

Food was delicious! The chipotle mayo is a must try! The owner is just the sweetest. And check out their darling antique salt and pepper shakers while you are there. My kids definitely had their favorites!
