A great restaurant for breakfast. We went there while our RV Camper was having new tires put on at Niagara Tire and Battery. We ordered the 1/2 pancakes with meat. The portions were huge and we took home two pancakes.
The waitress was friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Very over priced food for basic quality and the service was horrible! There was 1 other table in the restaurant we were charged $3/ coffee and couldn’t even get a refill, she never came to even ask us how our meal was. I will not be returning $30 for garbage and only ordered 3eggs and toast and 3eggs protein with home fries and 2 coffees very unsatisfied

My family stopped by The Lancer in St. Catharines on Saturday morning for breakfast. It was definitely busy, but despite the hustle, I was seated quickly and the service didn’t miss a beat. The breakfast? Absolutely perfect. I ordered eggs over medium – and they nailed it. For me, perfect over medium means no runny yolks, and that’s exactly what I got.

The next day, I went out shopping with my mom, and she suggested we try a popular breakfast spot elsewhere. We ended up waiting 15 minutes just to be seated, which I didn’t mind too much—until the food arrived. I ordered the exact same breakfast: eggs over medium. Unfortunately, they were nowhere near right. Runny yolks, undercooked whites—completely inedible. I couldn’t even finish them.

That experience made one thing clear: I won’t go anywhere else for breakfast other than The Lancer. They’ve set the bar high, and no one else even comes close.

My go-to breakfast place, has been for many years and I’m never disappointed.

The waitresses are extremely friendly and welcoming and the food is always delicious.
The bacon they have here is to die for, it’s a must have if you find your way over here.

The Lancer has been a Niagara staple for decades and it will continue to be so, as long as the food stays good and the service stays healthy this delightful breakfast place is going nowhere.

Food is good but the five stars is for how they treated my daughter. Nicest silverware I’ve seen for a toddler at any restaurant. With free kids meals. Will be back

I ordered a BLT sandwich and home fries and a coke..... The toast was s thin it looked like it was stepped on.... The bacon was fine te lettuce was romaine and brown and I asked for some kind of white cheese and got a Kraft single.... The owner took my money and said $17 no tax for you .... Absolutely disgusting for what I paid and the owner was very arrogant and ignorant.... Grew up going there was great but never again would I give that man a single penny for the worst sandwich ever...

Always have loved going to the lancer. Figured i would go back bur for pick up today and boy was i disappointed when the lady working the floor ignored me when I walked in, looked at me gave me a dirty look then when I met her gaze and said that's my pick up order on the counter. She scoffed and walked over to it grabbed it and when I asked if there was a fork in the bag, with excess attitude her reply was how do I know. So I said don't worry about it and walked out. I miss the old staff never have I been treated this way here. Very disappointed.
That said, the owner did come out and apologize, which I really appreciated. It meant a lot that he took the time to acknowledge what happened. I still love this place, and I’m hoping this was just a one-off.

It truly feels like a family diner atmosphere from the past. The food is amazing, not too greasy, the service is warm and friendly. Hands down the best home fries in St. Catharine’s. Highly recommend!
