Stopped in to Merchant ale house with my partner as he is from Niagara and it used to be a place he frequented when he lived there. A unique establishment with many beers on tap. Their rotating taps offer a nice variety of different styles and flavours. A smaller venue but good atmosphere. Next time we will try to catch some live music.

Super cool place.Beers are so good, specially, blueberry beer. Food is delicious: fish and chips, burgers and poutine.
Highly recommend to visit.

Merchant Ale house was one of the three places recommended by a local for fish and chips on our trip to Niagara area. The fish was perfect and also enjoyed the shoestring fries. The price was good and the service was excellent for the meals. Would eat he again if we returned to the are

We were in St Catherines for the big soccer tournament and looking for somwwhere close by for a quick bite and a beer. The Merchant did not disapoint. We were the last of 3 families to show up with a short window before we had to get back to the park for the next game. The place was full at 2pm on a Sunday when the streets were quiet and Kate was super helpful getting us set up quickly. We had the club and brisket sandwiches, fried pickes and nachos and a few lamp lighters. All hit the spot the club was fantastic. Im not in St Catherine's often but this place is now on my must return list.

Super accommodating staff. Typically superbly busy with a diverse array of regulars and newcomers. The only downside is that they inevitably close. Learned to grow a moustache here from Ian, to grow a mullet from Jake, and my pathetic attempts at an NZ(?) accent have never been better, thanks to their dutiful and invaluable manager. Long story short; highly recommended if you fancy an enjoyable evening.

Tried The Merchant Ale House today and really enjoyed it.The beer was super refreshing, and the food didn’t disappoint. We had the Garlic knot, Grilled cheese and the BBQ brisket burger, everything was delicious, but that brisket burger was absolute heaven. The sauces were amazing.Service was friendly and attentive. Definitely a spot I’d go back to.

I can recommend this place to everyone! I loved the blueberry beer, it felt like it came from heaven. The signature burger with egg was the best choice. I’ll definitely come back here next time I visit Niagara. The prices are fair, and the food is delicious!

We came here today with a party of 7, and there were many other groups there as well. The staff did great despite how busy it was and were always checking to make sure we had what we needed. Food was AMAZING too!! Just wanted to say a special thanks to the guys for their hard work.
