Unfortunately, it’s been many years since we visited this wonderful quaint village with fine shops and outstanding personable service, but our return was enjoyable and worthwhile in part due to selecting Stone Crock for lunch. We sat outside under a tent with heat omitting devices to warm the cool temperatures that day. The food and drink menu, enclosed is small, but offers enough options to satisfy. Our wines by the glass were good, but pricey at $14 for 6 ounces. My wife’s burger was tasty and ample which required her to bring the side salad home. My Taco bowl was large, good with leftovers for home. Service was excellent, personable and professional, which is key element in our dining experience. However, our two entrees with two glasses of wine at $72 was expensive, but due to the pleasant experience we had, there was no buyers remorse. There are many positive reasons for a return visit, possibly for dinner in the future?! Recommended!

We are from Alberta visiting family. Our aunt and uncle showed us around the area and we ended up at Stone Crock for lunch. The service was wonderful and the large tent worked well for all. Our server, Deb, was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We all enjoyed the food and drink. We will definitely be back at some point. Thanks so much for the great meal!

We went for lunch and ate outside under their huge tent. They had fireplace heaters. I had the crispy chicken wrap and potatoe leek soup which was delicious. My friend had taco salad which she said was spicy. Fish and chips by other friend two pieces of battered haddock and homemade french ? service was fast and efficient. Social distancing in practice. We would go again.

The ownership has changed since I last at at the Stone Crock. We ate in a tent beside the restaurant as it is under renovations. Lots of Covid-19 protocols in place. The fish and chips we had were amazing. We try fish & chips at different places often and this one rates a 10/10! They were busy yet the service was prompt and friendly.

The dinner was very disappointing. The schnitzel was dry and over fried. The so called German potato salad was just a bunch of cut up potatoes with nothing on them. The red cabbage slaw certainly was not very tasty. The charge for the meal was very much over-priced for what. The peach pie was $8.00 a slice and no.peaches were in sight. Very disappointed and will not return or recommend the food to anyone.

over the covid shut down they have changed hands and not for the better.. All the old fave that made this a go to for old fashioned German food were gone from the rather skimpy menu. Fries were over cooked to the extreme as was the batter on the fish and chips. The Burger was ok but ive had better at a roadside greasy spoon.

I love fruitcake. Every year my daughter gifts me one for Christmas. This year it was a Stone Crock Bakery fruitcake and it was the best yet - full of fruit and nuts.

Delicious bakery with apple crumble pies (done two different ways), apple fritters (amazing and was still warm when I gobbled it up) and pastry bun with a light sugar whip on top. Cappuccino was also very good. Great selection.

Went on a day trip St Jacobs. We were vert disappointed by the Restaurant as the menu we were offered bore no relation to the one on line which had attracted us in the first place. I the on line menu is for evening I wish they had stated it and we would not have gone. Nevertheless the server was charming and helpful.

We are loyal to their menu whenever we visit St. Jacobs. Thank his time around, we went over to their sausage on a bun, instead of the regular bakery/ sandwich. Courteous staff. Reasonably priced.

We have eaten here multiple times and always have the buffet. This time we arrived at the end of the lunch buffet and before they put out the dinner buffet. Frankly I feel ripped off. The hot food looked and tasted like it had been sitting out a while. There were no labels on the food and I have food sensitivities so I was not sure what I could eat without risking an upset stomach. Normally they have labels above the food items and there was none nearby I could ask. The selections available were limited. They did at least refresh the salad bar while we were there so I had a good salad. There were a few slices of pie to choose from, nowhere near the selection they had when we had been there in the past. I do not feel like we had a quality meal for the cost of the buffet. If they are not going to keep it fresh and fully stocked after a certain hour then they should close it and only offer menu service during that time. Bottom line? I am not sure we will be back there again and unfortunately there are very limited dinner options in town.

I should have known better when there wasn't anyone patronizing this restaurant. This was one of the best restaurants in the area quite a few years ago. On our recent visit the buffet was all dried out and looked like it was left over from Lunch. Nothing is fresh so we were with a group so I ordered off the menu also terrible. The Pie did not taste homemade like it used to. Was a very disappointing experience for the price. I felt bad for the server because she was fantastic.

this bakery sells life saving pie shells so I don't have to make them. Thank you! oh, and the Dutch apple pie squares and sausage rolls are very yummy!
