Shelby's Legendary Shawarma - St. Thomas

ordered chicken bowl with garlic potatoes and rice but the chicken was dry and the spicy garlic sauce and hummus was not sufficient for the whole bowl. It was too dry and no taste.
There were 5 employees but still had to wait for 20 mins to get one chicken Shawarma bowl order. And it was not that busy too. like 2-3 orders only.

I'm writing this review as a warning to others after a disappointing and unpleasant experience at Shelby's Legendary Shawarma in St. Thomas. As a regular customer, I was shocked and saddened by the consistent decline in food quality.

On Saturday, May 24th, 2025, I ordered a Regular Brotein Shawarma Wrap via Uber Eats. Unfortunately, the food was contaminated, and I ended up with food poisoning. This wasn't an isolated incident; my friends had a similar experience the week before, and I had also felt unwell after eating from Shelby's previously.

The repeated instances of food poisoning have led me to lose trust in Shelby's ability to serve safe and quality food. It's clear that the kitchen and serving staff need to prioritize food safety and quality control.

I urge the management to take immediate action to address these issues and ensure that their customers receive the quality food they deserve. Until then, I would advise others to avoid Shelby's Legendary Shawarma in St. Thomas.

Tonight I watched two young staff members here deal with an extremely rude, racist and difficult customer in such a professional and respectful way. As someone who has worked in the restaurant industry I was getting ready to throw hands myself, but these young men were so professional and calm. I was very impressed. Food was amazing as always and watching that interaction gave me another level of respect for your employees. Give your staff a raise, they definitely deserve it! They are a wonderful face for your brand.

Got the mac and cheese shawarma, extremely disappointed with the taste, quantity and how long it took to make as well. Also got the chicken shawarma boutine which tasted pretty good but not worth the long wait. Wanted to try this spot out but regretting it now. Would suggest osmows if you’re looking for good poutine with faster service, bigger portions for the value and good taste too

Fantastic as always, just wish they didn't change the bowl sizes, love the original legendary shawarma poutine size , now legendary size isn't filling enough to be paying same price.

Food is always 5/5 but the wait is always very long. Very friendly nice staff but seems to be constantly understaffed and too busy for 2 people to handle. 28 minutes for 2 rice bowls with 2 people ahead in line is ridiculous. Still occasionally worth the wait as the food is worth it, but would suggest ordering ahead if you are in a rush or expect to wait awhile. Would get a 5/5 for sure if the wait time for walk in orders was more reasonable.
