The Smokin Caboose Barbeque

Love this place. Burnt ends are delicious as are the pulled pork and brisket. Love their bbq sauce. Family size deal is well worth the money.

Very highly recommend the Smokin Caboose. We had them cater our wedding and it was the best decision we made! They did an amazing charcuterie board for cocktail hour, a huge amount of food for dinner including brisket, sausage, chicken and pulled pork, potatoes, mac and cheese, baked beans and an assortment of salads. The food was so good and we heard nothing but good things from people about how delicious everything was. Fiona was incredibly easy and amazing to deal with, she answered my million questions and was super quick to reply. And the owner Robert was great to deal with as well. Everything the day of so well organized thanks to Fiona and Robert. We also had them cater the late night snack which was a poutine bar/truck. It was the best thing of the night and perfect after some drinks and dancing! I can't recommend the Smokin Caboose more for all your catering and food needs!! You won't be disappointed with the food from Smokin Caboose, everything is delicious!!

Place is hit or miss these days. Used to love there brisket and brisket bites. Picked up an order for a family supper just before Christmas and no one was impressed. Talked this place up to my family for days before disappointing everyone.

My son was here with family so we had complete dinner for 7 people.
The entire dinner was excellent and tje dinner for six wit ribs was more than enough to feed everybody to yheir content.
Would recommend for dinner or even larger partiessuch as wedding or staff parties

TLDR: Overpriced food you'll want to throw out instead of eat. Don't waste your money.

I ordered:

• Brisket Sandwich
• Pulled Pork Sandwich
• Full Rack of Ribs
• Texas Twinkies
• Brisket bites
• Regular Poutine

Out of my entire order....I'd get the Texas Twinkies again....maybe. but not for the price they charge.

The ribs, the brisket and the pulled pork seemed to have next to no sauce on them.

The ribs fell off the bone but had very little flavor.

The brisket (& bacon) was rubbery and hard to chew.

The Pulled Pork was bland and flavorless.

We are only a few Brisket Bites as they also had a consistency of leather.

The mac & cheese was sour, like the cream had literally turned. I almost threw up.

The Texas Twinkies were ok...the only passable thing we ate.

The Poutine was also disappointing.

I feel like we ended up throwing out 60-70% of this meal because it was disgusting.

Anytime I visit St Thomas, this is whete I stop for lunch or dinner on the way home.

Service was fast and friendly.
Fries were excellent. Burnt ends were ok, kinda rubbery and did not like the BBQ sauce. Brisket was sliced thin and coated in BBQ sauce. Brisket was rubbery and again i didnt like the sauce. Maybe it would have been good on a sandwich ??
If I ate here again, id do the poutine as the fries were that good

Smokin caboose did the catering for my wedding this past Saturday and they were phenomenal. I had nothing but compliments all night about how tasty the food was. They were beyond professional, answering my every question and concern. The servers were kind, friendly and very accommodating. My husband and I cannot be more thrilled with our decision to have you apart of our special day. Thank you to all the staff at smokin caboose.

Stopped by over the weekend to pick up some food for dinner. Pretty disappointed with the quality of the food. Staff was amazing and the venue seemed relaxed.

Pros
- Staff was kind and friendly
- Who I think was the owner was friendly with the patrons, seemed to know regulars quite well
- Cool little venue

Cos
- Fries could have used a bit longer in the fryer and had 0 salt/seasoning on them whatso ever.
- Coleslaw was bland
- Brisket and Chicken sandwiches were fine
- Brisket burnt ends were tough and seemed like they had been sitting for a while causing them to be over cooked.

Overall the food was very meh. Nothing really stood out other than the lack of use of salt.

*We live nearby so it wasn't the time in the car that affected the quality issues*

Hands down, best restaurant to satisfy that smokey bbq craving you have! Irish and his team are ALWAYS amazing to deal with! Have never had a bad meal from Smokin Caboose! Don't leave without ordering the Texas Twinkies!!!
