The Take Out Fish & Chips Strathroy

The fish is always tasty and portions are perfect for a hungry family. If they would prepare their own coleslaw and tartar it would be that much better. Not complaining, just a thought.
I gave a lower score for atmosphere, it would be nice to see it cleaner or updated. But I won’t stop ordering if it stays the same.

Great fish and chips. Not always consistent with fish cuts but still very good all the same. You will get way more fries than you can eat. Can we get some lemon slices please!

First time trying this place and sad to say very disappointed. The fries were very obviously fried at least twice, they were very brown in colour and dry on the inside and not really edible. The fish was ok, though pepper should not be added to a batter. I’m not sure after this very underwhelming take out that I will be returning.

I have ordered the two piece haddock dinner and shared it with my wife.Lots of food,but compared to earlier visits,some things seemed off or different. The fish came as ordered….very light batter,but you could then tell how little fish you were getting. There were a ton of fries,but they were over cooked,brown and soggy,like the oil needed changing. I loved their coleslaw,but tonite it tasted terrible,not the same recipe at all. I wondered whether there was a new owner or a chef that needs some help…but we were disappointed.Not sure we’ll be back.

We were pleasantly surprised after visiting this restaurant. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a kind and welcoming individual who took our order promptly and had our food ready within minutes. What really stood out was the thoughtful gesture of adding an extra piece of fish to our meal after learning we’d be sharing with our young child—without even mentioning it. The food was fresh and delicious, and the service made the experience even better. Our child ate every bite! Thank you so much!

Batter was thick and uncooked. Never had batter like it. Fish was dark and white l have a hard time believing it was Halibut. Odd thing was had it in March 2025 and was amazing through and through. New owner or cook ??? I’ll never try again to find out. Money out the window.

We got two orders of fish & chips there last night (Sunday Nov/3/2024 and I gotta say they were both delicious we would recommend Take Out Fish & Chips to anyone who wants a good feed of fish…. Thanks Christine & company We will be back again soon

Best halibut and chips! The portions are large enough to share which makes the price very reasonable.

Ordered the cod and the haddock tonight and it was phenomenal!! Fresh cut fries and beautifully breaded fish that was cooked perfectly! Will definitely be our go to place for Fish and Chips going forward!!
