Excellent food, big portions, great service. Don’t miss this spot.

Pricing is more expensive than high end restaurants

What a truly amazing experience...the diner is cozy, retro counter napkin and ketchup layout...The large menu options. And lets not forget the rations. The rations are phenomenal. Beautiful. The sweet sounds of conversation, laughter, glasses clinking, along with the constant distant double thump of the swing door. We googled "Best Breakfast in Sudbury"...this place came up...we get there, and it was an endless line of patrons. In and Out. In the time we were there, was always another patron in line!

Kid-friendliness: They got CRAYONS...we took our page home!

I visited last month and had a great experience, the southern chicken hash was excellent and the pricing was very fair. Everyone in my party seemed to enjoy their options as well

Good breakfast deal before 10am. Went for that and it was great but there seem to be many menu options. Friendly efficient service despite it being a fairly busy place for a weekday morning. Clean and well maintained. I’ll be coming back!

Jak's is your typical great food little diner!! The portions are huge, the prices are more than fair and the food is delicious!!! The servers never stop, they make sure you are served in a timely manner and are happy with your meal!!
We had chocolate chip pancakes (1/2 order) and couldn't finish lol, Fenech toast, home fries and eggs, bacon, home fries and toast and all was cooked perfect and delicious ?
Highly recommend!!!

when I ordered the three egg breakfast, the three eggs were, at best, medium . anywhere else I would expect to see large eggs, when you ere promoting a three egg breakfast. combined the three eggs covered the same area of the plate as the slice of ham.every disappointed

MICE INFESTED. I would stay away from this place. While I was eating I saw a mouse running on the floor and go into the back. When I mentioned it to the waitress she was very rude and dismissive and seemed annoyed that I even brought it up. Food wasn’t very good either. Felt very disgusted after seeing the mice.

As a former resident of Sudbury, Jaks holds a warm place in my heart. Sadly, I think that’s cooled over now.
At 11:30 am, the business has locked their doors to refuse entry of additional customers. I was alone, and knew full well that I could have simply sat at the bar to order my usual when I visit.
Not an option when denied entry. I was also concerned for the customers, if a fire broke out.
As for food, I was hoping to have a better experience than the last time I visited, in March 2023, when Greek hash was mostly gnarled, chewy beef chunks.
I really wanted to see if they have improved or turned things around, cooking-wise.
Sadly, developments in professional behavior has soured my curiosity. I guess when I’m asked where to eat, I’ll just lament how amazing the Jaks once was, and recommend the many other breakfast options that still try to encourage business.
Genuinely saddened to see them fall so low.

Breakfast is ok but way over priced. One waitress who was chewing loudly came over to us while chomping and told us to go find a seat wherever we want. Lovely. All the empty tables were dirty or one inch apart from each other so unless you are Gumby and Pokey, you cannot not fit. Decided to sit in a booth with a dirty coffee mug and leftover crumbs. Yum. Won't be back with that service.

One of the best things about getting away is finding new places to eat. It's no secret I'm a major fan and very vocal about supporting independent restaurants and skipping the boring chains.

Jak's in Sudbury fit that bill for breakfast. Old school hole in the wall joint that hasn't been updated since its likely been opened. Faded pictures on the wall, chrome and naugahyde chairs, old vibes....

What you see here is the "wild west grilled cheese", it's what you get when you combine a grilled cheese, a western sandwich and garlic bread and it's down right amazing! The homes were likely the best I've ever had, the dill and parm aioli was the perfect compliment. ?

So if you're passing through Scuzbury give this joint a stop in.
