Stopped in at Bernard’s Bistro on our snowmobile trip. Great location, atmosphere and friendly staff. The food was amazing and we had the BEST Irish coffee ever!

The worst experience ever, an old lady served us a little house soup with a small pice of fish and we paid $99. Then we came to the wing house and fill ourselves with $36 dollars with chicken . Please 🙏 avoid that bs bistro which steal your money and give you nothing.

Had soup tomato basil and french onion. Both were great! Served with a crispy cheese crostini, mmmm. Then homemade blueberry pie and cherry cheesecake. Pastries are made local by a pastry chef and you can tell!

There were literally 4 ppl including myself mid day in the bistro when the owner came and demanded I give her the chair with Arms that I was sitting in. (while a minimum of 30 chairs were empty all around me.) I was sitting with a friend and ordered French fries to go...ten minutes later they had not even started my order. So I cancelled it and left. What a hole!!! One ⭐ for having the heat on!
What a wonderfully quaint little restaurant. I had the haddock and chips it was delicious

Very friendly place. Beautiful decorated. There is not much selection on the menu to choose from. Very little selection of beers also. Guess due to the long weekend.

We had a lovely late lunch at Bernard’s! The staff were so friendly and our dog Dug was welcomed on the tea patio. Food was delicious! We had the shrimp platter and the lobster roll. Prices were very reasonable. Definitely worth the stopover in the super cute town of Sunridge!

We went to Bernard's due to its overall high review scores. The majority of reviews here are representative of our overall experience.
We were warmly greeted by the owner Sandra and seated on the deck with a view of the lake. Our server Haley was friendly and attentive despite a busy lunch time crowd. We came so close to a great lunch. Even my sandwich which was incorrect (ordered toasted and came not toasted) was still good. In fact I had eaten most of it when Sandra asked how our food was. I said, "good, but the sandwich was supposed to be toasted". The response I got was "Oh well. The kitchen is busy."
My second attempt at an acknowledgement did not go any better. Sandra shrugged her shoulders and told me to "write her up." So that's what I am doing. I felt her to be dismissive, condescending and not at all interested in her customer. Unfortunately what followed next after Sandra tried to confront one my friends about how rude I was, was an unnecessary and embarrassing exchange between myself and Sandra. If any patrons there that day were upset by what was said, I truly apologize.
If Sandra had tried a different response than "oh well" this would be a five star review rather than a one.
It is possible to have a great meal here. Just don't tell Sandra anything is wrong or out of place. Based on the few bad reviews of this place they are all Sandra related.

The patio needs a good sweep of cob webs over where you eat !!! Yucky above our table and all around us on the water view patio
Tables chairs and plates are so dated
.and looks like a 60’s garage sale furnished the place.
When you pay $100 for a lunch date some money should go into your store.
Things don’t have to be fancy but just comfortable
I’m giving an honest review of Food and the prices
I paid for a lunch for 2 was $100.
The $22.99 for fish and chips was reasonable I guess now and days.
$14.99 for a Ceaser salad with Nothing but lettuce and crutons a tiny bits of bacon. That’s robbery in my opinion
The fish was amazing the fries were so greasy it wasn’t enjoyable at all.
The homemade baked goods I totally understand the work that goes into your cooking. This small town place should focus on the fairness of pricing for things that cost them little to make
I won’t be back for anything more than a slice of pie maybe.
From one Buiness owner to another
Small town vibes are lost at this spot for me
