Recently stopped in while we were at our family cottage on Eagle Lake. We had never been! But we will definitely return! What a wonderful spot, great food, great views and owner knows what she is doing. Thank you!

This is a special place to relax and enjoy homemade dishes, excellent service, and an inviting atmosphere. The butternut squash and sweet potato soup was delicious, as was the quiche. The homemade desserts looked wonderful. I saw that staff were very willing to adjust items to suit diners. I’ve been to Bernard’s Bistro in the past, and look forward to returning.

After a bit of a stressful day in Huntsville, we stopped at the Bistro for supper with our small dog.
We had the best Fish and Chips with with a Ceasar salad for me and a wonderful Butternut Squash soup for my husband. A lovely glass of wine and a slice of delicious, homemade pie finished the meal perfectly.
The waitress and owner were terrific, the portions were perfect and the whole experience made a great ending to our day!

Recently called for a take out order for 3 fish and chip dinners. 1 2-piece fish and 2 one-piece fish dinners. Owner said out of haddock but had halibut and didn't say it was going to cost more than the haddock or what the cost for the meal would be. This was about 4PM on Saturday. When I arrived to pick up the dinners I was shocked when the order came to $100.00 and change. When I checked the menu on line for the cost for halibut it only showed present market price. When I received the receipt it only showed total price of the order. The receipt wasn't itemized.
When I checked the contents of the order along with the fish, there was just a handful of french fries and a spoonful of coleslaw in each box.
When I called back, the owner said she told me the halibut would cost more. This was not true.
This was not very good customer service. No transparency and very underhanded.
The Bistro has lost a customer.

This is our favourite place to have lunch in the north. When we're at our cottage in Burk's Falls we love to make an afternoon of it to have a delicious lunch, or sometimes dinner. The food is great quality, desserts are beyond awesome and always homemade. Today's Carrot and Ginger soup and Fish Wrap was another great meal. Atmosphere is quaint and clean, service is with a smile.

Love this little gem in Sundridge. Such an ambient patio. Quick take-out. So happy to see this local-small business thriving. Got two iced coffee’s here, couple baked goods & a poutine. A staple when coming out this way!!! Stop by:)

We stopped on the way home for lunch after picking our kid up from camp. Our friends and our family really enjoyed it. The food was fresh, and served hot. The menu was extensive, service was friendly and a good pace- efficient but not so quick you felt rushed in anyway.. Coffee mugs were a good size and coffee was hot. We sat on the back patio and enjoyed the view of the lake and breeze. We thought prices were reasonable. The entire est. was very clean, including the bathrooms. (Something that I always note) After.lunch we ordered homemade butter tarts to go for the drive home:)

Got there 1/2 hour before closing and was welcomed with open arms, had a wrap and my wife had the grilled cheese with squash soup and everything was great. Have to go back and spend more time, the owner is so friendly that we want to visit more

As a professional chef with 26 years in the industry and currently working as an executive chef, I truly appreciate when a small operation delivers big on quality and heart — and Bernard’s Bistro On The Lake absolutely does that.
While the menu isn’t extensive, it’s well-curated and perfectly balanced for the relaxed lakeside vibe they offer. Everything I tasted was fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and served with genuine smiles.
I especially loved the Ham and Cheese Melt — the ingredients were all top-notch, but it was that fresh, crunchy crust sourdough that took it over the top. Simple, honest food done with care.
Wishing the team at Bernard’s all the best — you’re doing something special out here!
