Typical truck stop food. Prices were good but no free refills. They could have used another waitress. If you are in a hurry, ask for your bill when you receive your food.. lots of seating and clean.

It is with heavy heart I must give the following review. While traveling through Temiskaming Shores, we stopped at Gilles Truck Stop & Restaurant. I am being specific for only my wife's meal and mine, not our other guests. My wife ordered fish and chips, I ordered breakfast with eggs and sausage and breakfast potatoes. My wife's fish was such a small portion it was unbelievable. Captain Highliner fish portions are larger than this. The chips appeared to be from leftover pieces they had laying around. My breakfast potatoes were apparently sliced on a mandolin for such an even sliced potato. The sliced potatoes deep fried were terrible. The bad spots in the potatoes (like black, I dare say rotten but don't know) were left on and deep fried. Those areas were black. Didn't dare eat them. I am surprised there isn't better quality control. We have eaten here in the past passing through but this is the final time we will stop. Oh, and the price of coffee is almost 3 dollars and a refill is almost two dollars.

The staff were polite. It was around a 15 minute wait which is pretty good as they were busy. I only live a street away so it wasn't a long walk to go back and get the cheese and gravy put on my fries that I payed the extra $4.50 for. They politely added the missing ingredients. I ate around half of the meal because it was filling. Everything was cooked and I recommend this place for sure. I added gravy and nuked it when I got home 5 minutes later though. Over all go to the lunch truck for courteous service. It's a pleasure having them in our town.

I have visited Gillies for breakfast and lunch many times and have never regretted doing so. Most menu items are very good, always substantial and reasonably priced. This place can be very busy but the staff generally handle the business efficiently and with a smile.

Very cheap on the lettuce, and tomato buns were mixed up got to bottom asked for bacon cheese burger platter with poutin got fries instead, fries were cold, other order was fish, and the fish was soggy

Please do not go here! By far the absolute worst breakfast I’ve ever had! Ice cold to the point that pre-cooked sausages were still partially frozen and had not seen the pan! Staff were not welcoming and friendly.
The food is so good here and it's usually quite busy. The staff is friendly and they get the orders out quick. They have a large menu so you are sure to find something you like. You gotta check it out!

We needed a nice breakfast to get us launched on a travel day, and this is exactly the place to stop. Very good "truck stop" food, in a nicely decorated restaurant, with pleasant staff and fast service, at a reasonable price.

Disappointing. If you're looking for crispy fries this isn't the place. They are cooked in grease that's too hot so they're dark outside and under cooked inside. I'd suggest blanching them first. Burger was ok. Sorry, won't be returning.

I love their food! Quick and friendly service :). The poutine and deep fried pickles are my favourite :). I always get a meal at truck when I come down to visit my family in the area.
