We had a very enjoyable dinner at Drifters. It isn't much to look at from the outside. It's attached to a motel and there's a gas station out front. But don't let that dissuade you. Service was attentive and quick. And both our dinners were very well done. Anytime you can find a small-town restaurant that serves something beyond bar food is a real treat. Tonight's special was an all-you-can-eat pasta bar. Many patrons ordered that and they all seemed pleased. I ordered the Salisbury steak. It came topped with onions, and sides of green beans and mashed potatoes. It was quite good. And my husband's burger was delicious. We will stop here again when we pass thru on future trips.

We enjoyed our stay here, weekend was very cold and unfortunately our room was quite cold ( not the motels fault it was -30 ). Room was nice, however the floor was quite dirty.. I spilt water and wiped it up, I turned the cloth over to find it extremely dirty. For $220 in the jacuzzi suite I wish to have found it a bit cleaner. I am sure staff was nice and helpful however we only checked in and out and didn’t require any additional service.

Perched up high overlooking Lake Superior.A beautiful setting. The rooms are ok but if you are a light sleeper you will hear every little sound from outside. We were awakened at 5:30am by people shovelling snow.It sounded like they were in our room. The restaurant is a beautiful rustic decor with great food and service.Mens washroom.....uggg.Womens washroom....a showpiece.lol.Rooms: Adequate but need to be better sound insulated from outside noise.

We stayed in the jacuzzi suite and are sad we were only here for one night. Everything about this room was lovely and just plain cute & cozy. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the furniture in the sitting area was marvelous, and there’s a pretty decent kitchenette with stove-top that we didn’t use. The place was furnished so wonderfully that it left us wanting to spend a whole week here. My husband went down to the restaurant to bring our dinner up here—he found the staff to be very friendly and enjoyed hearing about what life is like in Terrace Bay. While booking, we didn’t know what to expect for location in proximity to everything else, but it’s all RIGHT HERE. We have the lighthouse across from our room, a strip of shops attached, and a view of Lake Superior out another of our windows. Looking forward to staying here again!

I only went there for lunch at the restaurant. Their chicken parmigiano, and their soup were very delicious. The price of items were a little bit high, however. Although it looks like they’re short on staff, the lady that served me was gentle and responsive. It was a great meal, and it felt nice to get warmed up in there in this cold time of year.

Great food but not the best service. Worked a hard day and just want some food to fill the void but I've called 15 times and no one picks up. Now you might say they are busy or closed but someone I know was there while I called and said they weren't even paying attention to the phone, and he could hear it rining. If you aren't going to take calls then maybe stick to just dine ins only.

Despite being on 17, it's relatively quiet. Great rooms on the "2" side, clean and well appointed. Will 100% stay here again, no questions asked.

Hidden Gems along Highway 17 North ?Every once in a while you find a really nice place to lay your head after a long day of driving. That’s the case with the Drifters Inn located in Terrace Bay Ontario. Located right off highway 17, this little motel is a great place to stay while you explore the lighthouse or the wonderful beach with its new boardwalk. And just out of town is Aguasbon Falls which is another beautiful place to stop and take a walk and take in a beautiful view.Last spring when I was planning my annual road trip to Toronto I decided to stay in Terrace Bay instead of driving the extra hour to Marathon where I usually stopped for the night. It’s an 8 1/2 hour drive which includes stopping at a few places for bathroom breaks, food breaks, coffee breaks, or just to check out something cool along the highway. My stay last summer at the Drifters Inn was awesome.I stayed on the top floor with a great view of Lake Superior. It’s always great to be able to check out some new things in a new town. In Terrace Bay, you can climb up the Terrace Bay Lighthouse, you can drive down to the beach where they have a boardwalk, some wonderful chairs to sit on and of course an awesome view of Lake Superior. You can also dine right beside your motel room too ….the restaurants that are attached to the motel are all top notch. So next time you’re up north on your way to wherever your travels take you, make sure you check out Terrace Bay, Ontario and if you’re looking for an awesome place to stay make sure to call ahead and book your room at the Drifters Inn.room #107
