Highly recommend the fired brussels sprout.
Fancy modern Japanese, but just different enough to make with visiting. The menu is small but covers all of the essentials i would look for. Chicken fried rice was delicious. French fries for the kids were a little off but could have been a bad day. Service was great, and the establishment has a cool vibe.
We love Mother The is our favourite restaurant at Blue Mountain. We find the atmosphere relaxing after a 20 k bike ride to get to the restaurant. They allow us to park our bikes on the patio if there is room. The food presentation and quality is outstanding. We can highly recommend coming to Mother Tongue. Great view of the ski hills. Service is always friendly 😀
Lindsay was amazing! Very engaging (and patient) with my 4 year old son, informative and quick. We’d definitely come back because of her!
Amazing food - good variety, and great flavour. Taylor was an excellent server!
This place was excellent! The food came out really fast which we appreciated because we came starving at 9pm for a late dinner. Everything was amazing and tasted really good. Pricing was reasonable, restaurant had great atmosphere (although very dark and club vibes). Highly recommend. Our server was Lindsay and she was excellent! Highly recommend.
Food was good.Service was good.Thank you Chef Sumit for the hospitality.
excellent food
We were here on Sunday July 6th for lunch. The food sucked with no flavour at all to anything. We ordered the pad Thai with shrimp, chicken fried rice and butter pasta for the kids. The fried rice was so sticky, had no flavour and came with exactly 9 shrimps (extra $9 for the shrimp). The butter pasta was basically pasta mixed with pasta and no flavour at all. Finally, the pad Thai was horrible with no taste.
The quantity was so less and the order came to us after after 20$ minutes of ordering.
It was the complete waste of my $88 there. Would never go back again.
After seeing the 4.5 star review ..
What ? Rubbish.
The staff was kind , apologetic. ( they know)
We ordered edamame beans, they were over cooked so the shell was breaking off in my mouth. The “ sauce” they were soaked in was just wrong. The dumplings “tasted like they were frozen store bought. I could taste the freezer burn. (Perhaps Costco ) then microwaved. The spicy beef was all fatty. And the veggies under cooked.
Two of is ordered the sushi ,
Mine was a tuna roll. The tuna was Slimy and gave me a metal taste in my mouth. The other the tuna was almost black. Which they tried to explain was in the way they marinated
It. Huh ? They took it back and didn’t even offer any other ideas. ! Needless to say , I was not going to eat another thing at that place. 🤢
We had to go to another restaurant to eat !
That is a first for me ever !!
All smoke and mirrors.
1 star is generous.

In general I don't like asian food but I liked the food here so much that I might start trying asian food. The reason I gave 4 star is because of not enough staff. You need to wait a long time to ask for water ...

I can't recommend it enough! From the moment we stepped inside, we were enveloped in a cosy and welcoming atmosphere that immediately made us feel at home.
The food was nothing short of spectacular. Each dish was not only delicious but also beautifully presented, showcasing a vibrant array of flavors that truly delighted the palate. It was evident that the chefs take immense pride in their craft, as every bite was packed with taste and creativity.
What truly stood out during our visit was the exceptional service. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making our experience even more enjoyable. We loved it so much that we returned for two consecutive days, and both times, the quality and warmth remained consistent.
If you're in the area, Mother Tongue is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates great food in a lovely setting.

Good spot for Asian fare in the Blue Mountain Village. Food was amazing and the service was great. Getting my meat torched table side was a neat touch. Nice selection of sake and other drinks available. Decor is nice but the tables and furniture could definitely use an upgrade. Our table was clean but super sticky for some reason.
