Shale Ridge Estate Winery & Cidery

Very spacious, the drinks and food are great and the swing seating is amazing !! Highly recommend for a girls day

My friend booked reservations for us so we drove over an hour to dine here. We were very excited to visit this Winery after looking at the photos. Unfortunately, our experience was not at all what we expected. The staff was very rude and even tossed our food on the table like a grumpy teenager without saying a word. I approached 2 employees at the bar to ask a question, they made eye contact with me but they were having a personal life conversation and ignored me for a solid 5 minutes until their conversation was over. Needless to say we felt extremely unwelcome, I found no professionalism in that establishment and will not be going back.

Nice atmosphere, it’s a pretty spot. The service however was way off.

It seemed all groups except us received a sample of one of the ciders when arriving and being seated. When we asked our server about the sample, she explained the sample is the harvest cider that’s included in the seasonal flight, and never came around to the table with the samples.

Service was slow despite us being there before it started to get busy. Our server seemed disinterested and disengaged when coming around to our table, explaining the menu/types of wines, but seemed happy and more talkative around different tables.

We were a group of 8, your menu says groups of 9+ are charged the gratuity of 20%. Our bills had the gratuity put in without us being informed of this.

The server was lovely. 10/10 for customer service. Only 4 stars because you couldn't order a flight without rose and their wines and ciders weren't my favourite. Picturesque though, good for ig picture.

I remember coming to this place when it was less brand new and small so it is amazing to see it grow it’s turning into such a fabulous establishment. The wines are okay the bottles are beautiful ( I was told it was someone who works there art which is nice, I even bought three bottles knowing this lol). Food was good simple which honestly is all you need despite other comments I read stating not enough food options - like you all said it’s a winery with little snacks.

We had the creme brûlée which the hostess did state is new and asked our real feedback on it which I did deliver. ( was delicious but custard was heated too long )

The wait is long and kind of annoying if you only want just a quick tasting or a glass to walk around. I fully understand they are hard to carry around and the place is busy. I think I’d recommend a tasting bar on the busy days or something simple, my bf and I were coming from twin pines just for a quick 20 min taste we did not need to occupy a table for 45 mins.

All in all I love the place the idea and honestly every server and hostess were amazing to us. The kitchen staff forgot our creme brulee ( or server forgot idk) but it was complimentary, however we did tip well over the norm as a thank you as we did not expect any complimentary dessert for the minor mistake.

I’m not sure if you had live music but live music would be a nice added touch too. I give it a 4.5 stars but it won’t let me do that.

My family and I came here to celebrate my sisters birthday.
Lots of options for drinks, we opted for the flights to enjoy a little bit of everything.
It’s a busy place to go, so I suggest pre booking your table. We did have to pay for the swings when booking a reservation, but we didn’t mind that, we wanted to try the experience.
The food was absolutely outstanding and all the staff was so friendly.

Cassandra was amazing! The tour was just the right amount of time and the ambiance was great. Highly recommend.

Great private tour learning about the vineyard, history of the business and ending with yummy tasting wines in a beautiful private room! Yummy wines and ciders.

The tour was very informative and interesting. I can’t believe this place opened in 2020. The tasting was amazing! And will be going home with the Ridge White.
