I don’t generally like to leave bad reviews, but I think management would benefit from some objective and dispassionate feedback.
Both the quality and the portion of the salmon in the salmon poke bowls were quite disappointing: the color was off, the texture was off, and the salmon was still halfway frozen when we received our bowls.
This poor quality was a sharp contrast to the salmon poke bowls we ate two days ago in Winnipeg, which I also reviewed, which contained legitimate sashimi grade fresh salmon that one would proudly serve in a legit Japanese restaurant. Here it seemed as if the salmon thad been sitting in a freezer for the past few weeks. That the cost was precisely the same at both places was astonishing to me. No disrespect to the staff on hand, who are ostensibly doing the best they can with the ingredients provided to them by management.
My girlfriend was happy to have healthy food after driving through small towns on the way here, but as can be seen in the attached photo, she left nearly all of the salmon in her bowl and ended up effectively eating a $20 bowl of salad and rice.
Were I the proprietor, I would be embarrassed, especially given the professionalism that the menus and decor would otherwise suggest.
A renewed focus on fish quality would seem essential.

The sushi is mid. The staff are nice. Overall I don’t think it’s worth the price.
I've been there a handful of times now and the food and service has always been good.
My last trip was less than ideal though. I place orders online for pickup since I live an hour out of town. And when I arrived to pickup my last order I was told it was never received/prepared (despite having the email confirmation/receipt and text message notification) I was told I would have to deal with the support team on their website...which doesn't have a phone number. So I was told to place the order and pay again in person. My credit card was already charged so I was hesitant but eventually did. I am still waiting for my credit card company to contact me to dispute the original purchase that was never received. I have not heard back from the Sushi Shop website support team and I'm disappointed that it wasn't handled better. Unfortunately, I will not return as I lost out on using my $8 in rewards for having an account as well as the $60 order, when the order could have been made for me with the proof of payment and receipt I provided. I was told the website is third-party run, so online orders (DoorDash, etc.) are not managed by staff and they have no access to them. But I placed the order directly through their website for pickup, not delivery. Now I must wait up to 90 days for my credit card to refund the purchase. Sorry, but as a customer who has spent hundreds of dollars here I'll be closing my account.

Firstly, the staff wear gloves to make the sushi, then touch people's drinks with the same gloves. It's unsanitary. Secondly, I gave a five dollar tip, and the woman behind the counter did not thank or even acknowledge me. Although the food was okay, the customer service was very disappointing. The server also messed up the drink. Horrible experience, my last time coming here!

Called an hour before closing for a pick-up and I was told that they could not take my order because they were too busy. Super disapointed since I was told they were better then Osaka. I guess we'll never know.
I was more than disappointed when we stopped today at 5:00 to order food for supper from here. When driving south this is one of our stops ALL THE TIME… used to have the best sushi ever now it is terrible. All the orders of tuna tataki balls were bland barely any avocado in the middle and the tuna was not chard the little it is supposed to be… not to mention the two orders of red velvet were disgusting it was like a ball of mucked up tuna on top of a tatter and once again barely any avocado it was like a speck (the smallest smear). All the food was greatly disappointing to say the least. We will not stop here again as the memory taste has been ruined and I no longer will go out of my way to stop at the Timmin’s Sushi Shop. This is saddening for me and my entire family!
