Balm Beach Bar & Smokehouse

Had the chicken tacos, absolutely awful. Friend had the poutine and brisket, frozen fries, terrible cheese, do not eat here it is a waste of money. The music is way too loud and the decor needs a major update. Save your money and go somewhere that cares about quality of food and their customers.

The view is nice but I'd just grab a drink and eat elsewhere. The waitresses were very pleasant and attentive she checked in on us often. The bar is very dirty and this is not a smoke house whatsoever. Steak sandwich was a couple of thin slices of deli roast beef soaked in a wisky BBQ sauce absolutely horrible. Left my steak sandwich covered on the plate with a napkin over it. Jerk chicken sandwich was tasteless with 2 very thin slices of dried chicken. One of the worst meals I've ever had. 2 sandwiches and a coke $68.

Potential to wait for a table here. Great atmosphere and food was worth waiting for also. Sunset is not quite viewable from the patio but faces the waterfront of Balm Beach.

Sadly very disappointing. On the positive the 2 hostesses/servers were welcoming and attentive. The staff tips will be lessened by the management's lack of attention or care to raise the levels of care to customer service, of food quality and overall cleanliness from the shabby impression from exterior entry to the full interior, exterior dining spaces.
Compare this level to the quality to attention at The Boathouse in Midland, and there is no comparable quality level. What a shame for a great beach small business with a view opportunity. To be a local destination spot worth referring.

Sorry but I didn't visit this restaurant or any in the area for that matter, I am sure the food and service is great. We have tried for several years to go dinning and drinks but couldn't. Today it was just for icecream.
Business should push their city mayor and council members to improve this area. Build more parking.
I feel sorry for these restaurants in the area and hope they are doing well. Parking is a disaster and you have 5 or 6 parking traffic ticket officers walking around giving tickes. It's totally nuts that people can't enjoy the beach and restaurants without being hassle by these folks. Don't get me wrong, respect the law and rules but this is over the top.
Since the pandemic, this city changed the rules and restricted many ares for parking, TOTAL CASH GRAB and unnecessary. We have enough issues with the USA and folks just want to enjoy our beaches and restaurants should be allowed with zero restrictions.
The city needs to add parking lots and remove all these no-park zone. It doesn't interfere with traffic. It's a major cash grab, $90 ticket within 3-hours and nowhere to buy tickets on some roads yet it's restricted to park and only permits allowed which tourists and other Canadians beach goers can't apply for or get...

This place is ok for a drink and a view. The food is poor and they try to be different but food is horrible. STOP trying to be different
