Our stay at SweetWater Bay was pure magic. We spent two unforgettable nights here and left with full hearts. From the moment we arrived, Donata made us feel so welcome. Her warmth, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality created the perfect atmosphere for a romantic escape.

The property itself is absolutely breathtaking. Peaceful, private, and surrounded by nature, it felt like our own little slice of paradise. We loved waking up to the gentle sounds of the water and sharing quiet mornings together with coffee and that beautiful view. The accommodations were spotless, cozy, and filled with thoughtful touches that made everything feel extra special.

Donata and their team have created something truly special here. This isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a place to connect, unwind, and fall in love all over again. We can’t wait to come back.

Thank you, Donata, for such a beautiful experience. You made it unforgettable.

We just got back from a 4-night stay at Sweetwater Bay. This place is quite simply a gem! It is a small boutique hotel for adults only. Beautiful landscaping, quiet and nestled in the woods.
With a generous and delicious breakfast included, we needed to try the dinner meals too, which did not disappoint. Everything was fantastic thanks to our wonderful hosts Donata and Sander, the chef! We will be back…

Everything about this place was fantastic. Donata and Sander were amazing hosts, made you feel so welcome and such personalized service. The rooms are beautifully decorated, cozy and with intricate touches like lavender soaps, bath bomb, Nespresso machine. We stayed in the Harbour Suite and it had the best view of the water. I really enjoyed the stand alone tub as well. The food was also delicious. I was a bit worried because I have celiac and needed gluten free options but they worked hard to accommodate me which I really appreciated. The breakfast omellette was one of the best I've had. We also had dinner one night which was equally great. Overall we had such a romantic weekend getaway and I highly recommend this place. We hope to return one day!

Can't say enough good things about SweetWater Bay! Had a fantastic Birthday weekend there, everyone was super friendly and made it a great weekend. Even got a nice custom birthday dessert.

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful meal. I had Beef Cheek (a first for me) which was a succulent piece of meat, slow roasted in a delicious sauce served with super tasty layered potatoes. My wife had quail, which was very good and also beautifuly presented (2 of the small birds fully separated into boneless breast and legs) on a tasty potato puree. We prefaced our main with a shared tomato bruschetta... It was a slice of rye toast with a so-fresh yellow tomato topped with fresh mozzarella and drizzled with basil pesto and balsamic vinegar. Yum!
Dessert was equally good and well presented, see my photo. Between courses we ducked outside to enjoy the setting sun on the shores of Georgian Bay.
Please book a dinner here - you will love it.

My husband and I stayed at SweetWater Bay in August for our wedding anniversary. We drove from Ohio to enjoy some fresh air and much needed R&R - and every detail of the trip exceeded our expectations. Personal service, thoughtful and expertly prepared food and drink, a gorgeous, quiet property and quiet, high end, well maintained suites. We cannot wait to come back next year!

If you want a quiet and private place, trust me. It’s worth to go. And I do recommend enjoying the dinner at here. I was surprised, especially after seeing the bad reviews here about the foods.

We found out about the restaurant on our last night staying in Tobermory; it’s a hidden gem! You have to reserve for dinner, but it’s worth it! You are greeted at the door and shown your table. The cocktails are amazing, one of the best I’ve had ever. We split the appetizer and got an entree each, and split the dessert too. The service was incredible, friendly and fast. Next time we come to Tobermory, we’ll definitely stay at the inn as well!

My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary with a wonderful dinner at Sweet Water Bay. Appetizers were: Gravlax salmon with sweet mustard sauce & Goat cheese salad with pear. We both had filet mignon with sharon sauce, mashed potatoes, squash & brussel sprouts. We finished off splitting a brownie with vanilla ice cream. Food was on point, steaks cooked to perfection (medium rare). Our waitress was friendly and attentive. A real gem of the Bruce Peninsula. It is rather well hidden but that also adds to the cool exclusive & intimate vibe. A memorable way to celebrate our anniversary. Thanks for a great dining experience!

Found this gem of a restaurant #SweetWaterBay by chance last Friday on our visit to #Tobermory. Getting to the restaurant added to the memorable experience, with the dark, unlit, tree-lined, long dusty road....thrilling. We were greeted at the entrance, enjoyed a delectable appetizer, entree and dessert in a beautiful, cozy setting. The limited, one-seating per night made it a more personalized evening....thank you and also for accommodating a #glutenfree request.

We discovered Sweetwater per chance and had the opportunity to dine there on our last night in Tobermory. A beautiful ambiance, excellent meal, and great service by Michelle who was professional, friendly and knowledgeable. She suggested we head down to water while awaiting our appetizers to see the property which we did - and it is stunning. Our only disappointment is that we did not hear of this sweet spot before arriving in Tobermory as we would have loved to stay onsite. We are fromMontreal and will return. Highly recommended.Food & drinks: Excellent.

Sweet Water Bay is definitely a diamond in the rough. We found it by chance on Airbnb then booked through their website and were not disappointed.Donata and Sander are excellent hosts. The food and drinks are some of the best you will find as they are European trained chefs. The rooms are beautiful and unique, the property is beautiful and has great views of the bay and a walking trail that is both private and as picturesque as you will find near the grotto or flowerpot island without all the traffic. The lake water pool is wonderful, very clear well taken care of. The property is also just up the street from Little Cove Beach. If you are lucky enough to find this place definitely check it out, you will not regret it. We stayed their for the first time in May then had to go back a second time later in the summer to enjoy in the warmer weather.
