I ordered fish tacos (apparently they are famous for this) from the takeout window.

The service was friendly but was slow and unorganized at the window as I had to wait for food that I found out was sitting at the window ready to go, but no one notified me.

The fish had a super light batter which was nice; it was more of a whitefish fry than classic fish and chips, although I'm sure they have normal batter for their meals, and not tacos. The tacos were a bit bland.

I would be interested in coming back to try their classic pub fish dinner with a beer.

We went at the end of September. I know it's end of season but service was so slow and half the menu items were not available. We would have been ok with all of that but they failed to tell us they were out of corn for the veggie taco when we ordered it. We paid $9 for lettuce, tomato and avocado on a wrap... Without fries. Just the wrap. Prices are too high, not worth it for what you get.

Beware that there is no Lake Huron whitefish after August 25, apparently. Our haddock was dry and chewy - quite disappointing for a fish and chips place. The chips were nice and crunchy. The fish taco had an interesting sauce. The curried coconut lentil soup was excellent though and a very good size.

The most mid fish and chips I’ve ever had. Not bad but not great. I felt that the fish needed more seasoning but the fries were good. The fish tacos came out as a burrito which confused me. They provided little pre-packaged tartar sauces which was disappointing. I would’ve thought a fish and chip place would make their own. Overall, I think there are better places to dine in Tobermory!

Lovely view over Little tub, fast service and good food and music. Very happy there is a gluten free Vegan coconut curry lentil soup which was flavourful and delicious. Disappointed that white fish not available. But told that it is end of season. Second option , Haddock, was lightly battered and very tasty. Our server Taylor was friendly and although working by herself, she provided excellent, friendly and quick service. Thank you for a great end of our day exploring the Bruce peninsula.

Sept 8, 2024, We went to the fish & chips restaurant in Tobermory for a quick dinner and got screwed around. One server was training another. We told them we weren’t that hungry so we ordered 1 (only one) dinner to share and the young kid brought us 2 (two) dinners. We said No! Just 1 and the other server said Oh just a miscommunication, but don’t worry I’ll adjust your bill. Never did!!!! They played off each other and insisted that we order the more expensive dinner. Said it was more fresh. We will never go back to that restaurant ever again!!!!
Food was good but 2 servers are terrible!!!. ?
No tips for them.

My family and I visited this restaurant yesterday while in the area. After being seated at a table in direct sunlight, we weren’t attended to by any server or given a menu. We had to get the menu ourselves. We waited 25 minutes without anyone coming to take our order, and when I finally asked, I was told to wait until a server came by. Meanwhile, two Caucasian families who arrived after us were immediately served and had their orders taken. This was shocking. I confronted a busboy—a young, somewhat skinny Caucasian kid with medium-length wavy hair—who told us to leave if we had so many issues. This was unacceptable, especially since we had an infant with us. It was clear there was preferential treatment at play. The busboy, who wore a red uniform on August 31st, 2024, was rude and showed RACIST behavior. He should be fired immediately. We received no help from the other staff, even though we repeatedly asked if there were any tables available inside for shade, only to be told they were reserved for other customers—even though we had asked for a table 45 minutes earlier. To top it off, the food was terrible. The fish and chips were bland and tasteless—honestly, the worst I’ve ever had. This restaurant needs to improve its service and food quality.

IF YOU WANT YOUR BUSINESS TO SURVIVE, DO NOT HIRE RACISTS, or else we will get to you. GARBAGE FOOD, RACIST AND RUDE STAFF.

Dietary restrictions: They were racist. Why would they care about dietary restrictions?

Kid-friendliness: None at all. Rude inconsiderate behaviour. Zero considerations for non-white families with kids.

I'm absolutely furious with the experience we had. The white waiter with gold hair and who was wearing a red t-shirt was incredibly rude. He seated us at a table directly in the sun, and when I asked to be moved, he couldn’t be bothered to help. We were left sitting there without menus while other customers who arrived after us were served first. I even asked another waitress for a table in the shade because I had an infant with me, and she couldn’t have cared less. The behavior of the staff was completely unacceptable, and I’m never coming back. The food wasn’t even worth the trouble—it was mediocre at best.

Anybody who posts a so so review about this place is just being ignorant on purpose.
This place is otherworldly in terms of food quality and they’re the only ones serving something that no other fish and chips place does in Tobermory, serving locally caught fish.
Service may seem slow but the reason for this is that they are actually a very busy place to eat.
Busy restaurant equals excellent food because the turnover here is staggering.
Worth the wait because yes, the food is that good.

We came here 2 days ago and the service was slow and underwhelming. We were first to be seated out of 3 tables but we were the last to be served after 15-20 mins. The last table got their food before we were waited upon. We learned after the waitress is new and alone but no one warned us of a lengthy wait until we overheard from another table. Unfortunately, they ran out of whitefish fillet so we ordered the whitefish bits and haddock fillet instead. The food portion was small and the taste was average. Overall I didn't feel the paid parking and the wait was worth it. I had a better experience when I came here a few years ago.
