The restaurant has spacious parking in front. The chairs make sounds all the time and I didn’t feel secure enough.we ordered and they brought the food fast enough.the taste was average, nothing special to mention, but the weak point was that the waitress put the machine for payment without receipt.we paid plus 20% tip.later asked for receipt and we got we paid already 18% gratuity already.that was not professional and fair at all.

When you see and say Max Restaurant atleast you're expecting a bit quality of good service and product.
But I think I was wrong in this location, I need to go to the front desk 2x. First, to get menus bec no one is coming to our table second I need to go ask the lady infront to ask where will I order because again no one is attending us. So disappointed on this part because the restaurant is CHARGING US AUTOMATICALLY WITH 15% GRATUITY with this kind of service....well I will not complain if I think they deserve it.
The establishment SHOULD atleast train their employees if they have policies like this and also it's not a shame especially that they represent a Brand.
Never coming again.

We had my dad’s 80th birthday in their party room for 80 people. Food was great, staff very friendly and helpful - very flexible with regards to our needs- everyone had a great time. Thank you!
Wheelchair accessibility: We had several guests with walkers and wheelchairs - accessibility was not a problem.

I recently dined at Max Restaurant, and overall, the experience was quite enjoyable. The ambiance was inviting, with modern decor and a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. The menu offered a wide variety of dishes, and the food quality was excellent. Every dish we ordered was flavorful and well-prepared, with generous portions. The staff (Hani) was attentive and professional, making sure our needs were met without being overbearing.

I was impressed by the service and foods. Especially with Ate Hani who gave everything we requested from her. She was so attentive and very friendly. She was generous to gave us more rice. Lol. Thank you so much and we will surely be back in this store. Kudos to all staff of Maxs!

Dear lord "This cuisine" is absolutely horrible. Yikes. The places is also in violation of public health. Extemely disgusting condition and very dirty. Extemely rip off too. Worst type of cuisine I have ever come across...No wonder you never see other ethnic groups eve dining here..

3 stars for the delicious bangus sinigang and pancit canton (although it smelled almost panis na). Too expensive to eat here. I don't mind paying the gratuity bill if only our food experience is very satisfyingly great. Overall a so-so experience. This is not the quality of Max's I know in the Philippines.

Too much pricey
Restaurantji Recommends
Food quality is not authentic — my high school niece can put together better cooking with better tasting Filipino dish
Lumpiang Shanghai was served burnt
Quality is not justified with pricing
Waiters/Services were hard to catch for missing items that we ordered but they took it upon themselves to add 15% gratuity added by the restaurant (by forced!!!) for 2 people who didn’t get proper service that is is disrespectful
Do not waste your money at this location for Filipino food

Beware of their policies on small signages!!!
Almost missed their small sign about single bill policy on weekends at the entry and never saw anything about mandatory gratuity plus tip. We had to leave in a rush so we assumed that the tip dialogue on the payment terminal meant that there was no mandatory gratuity.
Disappointed about our experience and hesitant about coming back. No one should have to check reviews on Google Maps to know about these restaurant-specific policies, the restaurant should be transparent with all its customers.

I been here before I came FOR CRYSPY PATA almost at closing and they were closing the kitchen. Luckily for me MIKE THE OWNER was there and he put the order through. Also recommended me couple of other things.was very knowledgeable and the service was good and food that Mike recommended was Awesome
5 ? to Mike
I returned today again and WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!
I ordered crispy Pata, soup , beef dish and rice.
The beef... lol... I specifically asked a couple of times how it was done and looked.
The lady told me it was marinated with vinegar and spices. I had that before so I was excited..10 minutes later I went to the front desk and try to reconfirm about the beef dish and how it was done. The front desk girl couldn't find my order because the waitress never put it in yet......10 minutes LATER.....Then after they found my order i asked the girl about the beef dish 1 more time . To which she told me that it was Filipino beef...LOL and had no clue what it was .Also it felt like I was getting attitude and after her answer she turned around and was doing something else...Insteat of trying to help and maybe ask the cook ..
Crispy Pata was very much overcooked.
Usually it's nice and crispy on outside and nice and juice and soft inside...NOT TODAY...it was Dry and hard inside, couldn't even eat it.
The beef came in a gravie and extremely salty. The rice NEVER CAME!!!! I asked the waitress about it twice, she forgot to put it in...WOW.
Then I just didn't feel like eating anything so I asked the waitress to put my food to go,waiting for 10 minutes AGAIN..I had to take my food to front desk and told them to put it to go.
At the front desk I expressed my complaint about everything and that I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED.... THE FRONT DESK GIRL DID NOT EAVEN APOLOGIZED OR TRY TO LISTEN TO ME!!!!!!!!
Instead she said ARE YOU PAING CARD OR CASH!!! AGAIN WITH ATTITUDE!!!!
VERY bad experience
WILL NOT GO THERE AGAIN .
Mike you should train your stuff workers to be like you.

I recently visited Max Fried Chicken and was thoroughly disappointed. The chicken was incredibly small . Additionally, the crispy pata was also tiny and did not meet my expectations in terms of portion size. For the price, I expected much more.

The service at this restaurant fell short of expectations. While not overtly rude, we, as a party of two young adults, noticed that tables seated after us received their food first, resulting in a prolonged wait for service. Our visit stretched to 2.5 hours instead of the anticipated 1.5 due to slow and inattentive service, without any visible reason like special events or large parties.
Additionally, a 15% gratuity was added to our bill without any prior notice - a practice typically reserved for larger groups and always explained upfront at other establishments. This lack of transparency felt questionable, possibly discriminatory, given our younger age.
Regarding the food, the soup portion sizes were generous! However, the Kare Kare was all soup, no flavour - yet overly salty, and lacked sufficient meat and veggies for the price, whereas the Sinigang Baboy was well-prepared but also on the salty side. Spaghetti was unfortunately overcooked (the flavours were very good so this was a shame!) and portioned quite small, but the Garlic Rice and Lumpia were tasty and worth it! The Sago Gulaman was overpriced for its portion and the Halo-Halo ingredients were surprisingly sparse as well.
While the establishment was clean (including the bathrooms; although the towel dispensers were empty), the atmosphere lacked Filipino flair. A mural dedicated to the restaurant’s legacy was blocked by a wall separating the main dining and event sections, diminishing the Filipino immersion. The vibe felt more like a North American takeout joint, especially with the TVs airing purely North American content. For a more immersive Filipino atmosphere, try Lakay Kusina in Scarborough!
In summary, while the food was authentic, it was unjustifiably pricey. Service needs improvement—be proactive in getting the staff's attention, or you might face long waits. Don’t enable their poor business practice and let them jip you by adding 15% gratuity to your bill without notice!
For a restaurant so well-known in the Filipino community… I gotta ask - why??? Comparable or better options are available at Thai, Korean, and Vietnamese restaurants, or at Kapit Bahay and/or Edge BBQ - both in Scarborough - which I highly recommend for the best Filipino food in the GTA at a better value, or Islas on the west end of Toronto for the best modern take on authentic Filipino cuisine (and with Islas being downtown, at least the prices there are justifiable). I find it difficult to think about Max’s without immediately associating it with a lack of integrity :( Our Filipino community deserves excellence, which unfortunately is not found here.
