I was visiting Toronto and decided to have a dinner at this place as i like Mediterranean kitchen.Very “authentic” design - and i mean it in a good way. Place is busy so make reservations - i got lucky, but had i come 30 min later - likely would not get it.Prices are above average but worth every penny. I knew i would not be able to finish everything i ordered but i could not help it - both scallops and chicken breast were above the average. Sauces were with just the right touch of garlic. Service was courteous and not pushy.I had no room in my stomach for desert which i regret as it all looked delish

I don't normally give perfect ratings, but honestly, I could find no fault with this place.I took my mother there for her birthday dinner, and what an incredible experience! We were greeted so warmly at door by the hostess - she even helped us find parking. The Maitre D was professional, light-hearted and very attentive. The service by the wait staff was unbelievable. On the strength of these three alone, the entire night would have warranted a 5 star review! But then came the food...Incredible! Delicious, simple, well presented and very reasonable for a fine dining experience.Take my advice - get the lamb chops. I dare you to find any place that does it better. The entire experience left us feeling as though we were having dinner at a friend's place. So warm and comforting.

Greek Fine Dining in Vaughan A fairly new restaurant that opened up less than 7 years ago has impressed the neighborhood. Owned by a well established family with a restaurant history. The service here is excellent with a great crew. Always on the ball and deliver the experience you are looking for in a Greek restaurant. The lamb and salted fish are my favorite both dishes are large and always cooked perfectly. Excellent value and a great experience for any occasion.

The food was amazing. Every single ingredient was fresh and unparalleled. This was probably the best pizza I've ever had in my life. The service made sure we had everything we needed promptly, and they were happy with every one of our asks while making us feel like regulars.

1.5 stars.Ordered the lamb, sea bass, octopus, red wine, white wine. The bass was made tableside. For $50/lb and two lb minimum, it was strange they had a rookie fillet our order, took ages, lots of bones remained and they kept 30% of the flesh for themselves, because it surely didn't make it to my plate. Sides were cold.Service was strange as many reviews state. It's not warm, it's not coordinated. I would rather drive downtown to Mamakas. Better atmosphere, better value, better service.

This is the first time I’ve been to it. I like it and definitely will go back. The deco is authentic, food is delicious and servers are very friendly. I particularly like the freshly baked bread and MELITZANOSALATA. I normally are not bread or fried vegetable person, but they are so yummy and I ate so much. The entree (paella) is also good. Loukoumadis maybe my least favourite dish of the night, but it is probably because I don’t like doughnuts type of desserts but thought I’d give it a try. I think next time, I will go for lava cake or chocolate mousse.

Had a very nice dinner. The appetizers were very good. Excellent salad, pita and various dips along with some tasty saganaki cheese. The thin fried veggies - not as much of a hit. For the main course, I had the grilled fish of the day - Mediterranean sea bass - branzino I think - it was deboned (mostly) and cooked perfectly. Came with some delicious veggies and potatoes on the side. The wine selection was reasonably varied and moderately priced - there were 4 or 5 reds available by the glass. There were a few options for dessert and we tried two of them. The baklava was not a big hit with our group - served cool or cooled off by the ice cream - we tried another dessert - like a "knaffe" which was a bigger hit. Overall the service was excellent, the servings were generous, the food was tasty. I would be happy to go back.

We've shared a few birthday's and other celebrations here now and we absolutely love coming to Philoxenia for a special dinner. I don't know what would be considered traditional Greek cuisine, but this is delicious for sure. A bit on the pricey side but we've never been disappointed. We're huge fans of the Tzatziki sauce - made fresh with a lot of garlic, and the grilled calamari. Last time, we had to order two because we enjoyed it so much. Extremely tender, grilled to perfection, just the right light touch of seasoning. As for the rest of the meal, we typically tried an order of salmon, grilled lamb rack, and moussaka. The only item we've ordered that we actually weren't a big fan of was their paella which I think we just didn't like the texture of the orzo as much. Cooked into the sauce, it got a bit too mushy for our liking. I will 100% be back for the next special dinner. The staff here are absolutely the sweetest and we have the best time. Parking is quite limited here but somehow, we always manage to find space.
