Last night I stopped in for pizza while visiting family. I’m originally from Waterloo, and I just have to say the staff were absolutely wonderful. The two young women working were welcoming, attentive, and really made the experience enjoyable. On top of that, the pizza itself was excellent!
That said, I was very surprised and disappointed when I went to tip. I looked for the option on the payment machine, but when I asked, the staff explained that tips aren’t available through the terminal. In today’s world, very few people carry cash, which means those employees are likely missing out on well-deserved gratuities simply because of a system limitation.
As someone who owns a restaurant in Waterloo, I can say firsthand that tips are not just extra. They’re a vital part of supporting and motivating staff, especially younger workers. For many, it’s spending money that rewards their hard work and provides encouragement to deliver great service. Without an accessible option to tip digitally, you’re not only reducing the earning potential of your team, but also creating a less satisfying guest experience for customers who want to show their appreciation.
Adding a tipping feature on the payment machine would be a small change with a huge impact. It ensures staff are fairly rewarded, it encourages excellent service, and it shows that the business values both its employees and its customers’ experience. With such fantastic staff already in place, it seems only right that they should have the opportunity to benefit fully from the service they provide.

10 Years ago I probably would have given Godfathers 5 stars but now, what was once the best Pizza Shop in Walkerton has really gone down hill.
The quality of their slices is really disappointing. Almost every time I've gone in to grab a slice they have been sitting there for too long and the worst part is I got them at the time of day when they should be at the freshest.
Godfathers has been a staple of Downtown Walkerton for over 30 years so Its really disappointing to see (or taste) how bland it has become.

We had an excellent experience here. The staff were extremely kind when they were running a couple minutes behind with our order and went above and beyond to ensure we had a good experience. And our panzerotti’s were delicious!

I love seeing the twins when I come in they’re always so friendly and welcoming. Whenever I order pizzas, they somehow find me the best deal, and I really appreciate it, they also make the best pizza. They’re always smiling, laughing, and joking around, and it honestly makes my day every time I see them!

Cassie, Lauren and Shaelyn always professional, friendly service on a sweltering summer evening! Thanks for the great service and tasty pizza!
Great tasting pizza, great value
Staff is amazing, very friendly and helpful
It's always a nice experience to get a slice to go from godfathers
Just wanted to say how amazing the Lady that was working today at godfathers at 230 pm (sorry I didn't catch your name) But you did an amazing job holding it together after some rude person before me berated her for working alone and not having the type of pizza slice this lady wanted.
You are great at your job and I wanted you to know that. Don't take it personal when others are rude.
The pizza combo I ordered was hot and ready to go, not to mention you were very pleasant to chat with.
I recently had a disappointing experience at Godfathers due to the unprofessional behaviour of the manager. It was clear that she takes advantage of her position. During my visit, she left the store for a coffee run while two employees arrived, and I overheard them mention that there wasn't much prep done before they got there. There were only two pizza slices left when they came in, and they had to quickly make three full pizzas to catch up.
Additionally, the manager was swearing in front of customers yes not to them but there were customers in there hearing this, which is completely inappropriate and to be swearing in front of the employees that look like they are in high school. She didn't take any phone calls despite the busy atmosphere, choosing instead to chat with an older coworker she went to get coffee with. This kind of management is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the establishment.
Despite this the employees that were working looked very stressed even though they did a great job keeping up with the work, if this management keeps up you won’t have employees there anymore it was toxic and they looked very upset! This happened on Tuesday and I hope this feedback helps improve the situation for future customers and employees.

I came into god fathers and there was a British lady working. We were standing there for 10 minutes while she was on the phone with a friend and finally 10 mins later she helped us (we were standing right in front of her the whole time). I was gonna pay for our pizza and my boyfriend was gonna pay for our drinks and while I was paying my boyfriend goes what kind of drink do you want and the lady said so sassy “don’t you think you should tell me your getting drinks before you pay”. And while I was paying I have my Apple Pay on my phone and I go does ur tap not work and she goes rudely “sometimes it does sometimes it doesn’t”. This lady doesn’t understand customer service or respect or being a nice human being.

First off I thought the ladies working there where very nice! But the building and everything in it is very worn out and in some areas crumbling. And the pizza was disappointing, a wierd taste in the suace, not much cheese or pepperoni and the dough was uneven, one side twice as thick as the other side. Also the menu gave lots of options except the regular price for a 1 item pizza, which i thought was ironic to miss the most basic option on the menu.
$5+ for half a slice of pizza. At least order in some smaller trays so it’s not a blatant.

I’m sorry to say but my experience at this pizza parlour was terrible.i call and asked if they sold dessert pizzas and they didn’t answer and just hung up on me I then called back and asked what happened and they said they did this because they didn’t have them I then ordered a small pepperoni pizza and was not told the price on the phone. When I came in to pick it up it was not ready and the black and gray haired guy rude I told them my name on the order and he just said it’s not ready and started laughing and I think it was because of my sexuality. I also brought my kid in with me and he told me the guys name as he went to school with him his name was Colby shmit (he’s the one who was on the phone and being rude) or something like that. My kid also says Colby is a bully at the school and id rather not see jobs supporting bully’s. I’m sorry for leaving this review as the food was not bad but the customer service was Terrible I might consider coming back in a couple years when that guy is gone
