Just happened to be driving through Wardsville around lunchtime and found this spot. I am a total soup and sandwich person and I’m so happy to of found this place. I ordered the cheddar melt (with roast beef) and a cup of nacho cheese soup. Both items were full of flavour and absolutely delicious. I really like how I got nachos instead of crackers to go with my soup. There was a good selection of the items available, the portions were perfect and the prices were great unlike fast foot. I didn’t get a pic of the food because it was so good I ate it all before posting this, but I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this place. Just remember to bring cash as there is no debit, but there is an atm at the variety store if needed. So walk up the stairs check the menu on the wall place your order in the little window and ENJOY! I definitely can’t wait to work around the area again to enjoy some more great food.

I live right across the street and I used to be a chef. This is the best soup I’ve ever had all of it doesn’t matter what you get it’s incredible Barb does an amazing job.
Today I had potato cheddar jalapeño, and it was almost a religious experience.

What a great little spot. I found this place through a friend who suggested I try it and I have to say I was quite pleasantly surprised. Upon pulling up to this old historic looking building in the tiny village of Wardsville. A town famed locally for it's three nines' at Wardsville Golf and Country Club. I was taken a back by the hand painted signage. It screamed something artsy and fun. I knew I was in for something different. I had already called ahead as my friend had informed me they do not have a fixed menu because they make everything from scratch! Which I love!!! Yum no package food! A pleasant lady answered the phone and told me today's menu and that they only accept cash which is a bit unusual but understandable as we all know banks charge fees on debit. I was vert pleased having three different bowled options two soups and a chili. Nice! As well as several different types of sandwiches to complete the meal. Great! I had a large bowl of a spicy Italian sausage with rice soup with one of the nice sandwich selections offered on their board. It hit the spot for sure. My company had a chili and sandwich also. Both were good wholesome meals and certainly filled us both up. I'd like to try their pizza too sometime that's a order ahead item as everything is made fresh and dough is just in time. So it's super fresh and nothin is wasted. Smart. Honestly I am so very happy to have another option for lunch as the usual haunts we visit locally all tend to have the same menus... Food here is so good and reasonably priced! I've been so impressed with everything I've tried so far. I was expecting a more basic small-town menu but she always keeps it interesting with different options at least during lunch. The owner is also very sweet and so grateful when you tip. Would definitely recommend this place and I look forward to coming back!
