Went to Stacked for the first time and I should have stuck to anything stacked (pancakes etc), which is clearly their specialty. The New York Blueberry Cheesecake pancakes were delicious.
The savory stuff (omelettes, home fries) was kindof bland. Service was on the slow side but it was the holidays so it was understandably busy.

Anyone who is environmentally conscious should avoid this chain entirely. They serve pancake syrup, not genuine maple syrup. The real stuff costs extra… but what about the good of sourcing local products? They also had plastic cups and straws, and generally seemed unaware of their impact on the planet. This could be a great canadian pancake chain, promoting local products and doing its part for a circular economy but sadly that isn’t the case.
Staff who served us was great

Dropped in with my two daughters for a quick bite to eat. They never checked on us, or asked for refills of our drinks, also she charged me for 3 adult size drinks when my girls were eating off the kids menu, that clearly states at the top that the drink is included in the kids meals. Our sever was Kara and when I asked her why I was charged so much, she redid the bill to charge me for a refill instead of adult size. Her excuse was she thought I wanted adult sized drinks for my kids, then offered me $2 back, but the charge was $4 plus tax. I won’t be back, the food wasn’t that good for the mediocre service.

Not an accessible or baby friendly restaurant. Dont bother coming if your baby is in a stroller or you need wheelchair accessibly. The staff bumped into our stroller multiple times, we had to provide our own solutions for them to provide us service, we sat for 10+ mins without menus, we had to ask for our bill… etc. Mediocre food with sub par service in a restaurant with little thought into wheel chair accessibly or strollers.

I rarely post reviews. And can’t recall the last town I posted a negative review, but this needs to be stayed.
I brought my 89 year old mother here for breakfast on Wednesday morning. It was her 89th birthday, I had driven up from Port Credit.
I had also found that her hot water heater in the crawl space of her. House had burst a leak and had been leaking into her basement for several days. We had a terrible morning.
When we got to the restaurant, where we have gone many times before, the waitress tried to drag us at a table near the front door. My mother asked for booth. The waitress became upset, why I don’t know - perhaps she too had a bad day.
She very rudely told my mother that they were closing soon and snapped at her while taking us to an empty booth next to the table.
She slapped the menu and walked away.
Mom was just cold and wanted to be away from the front door.
My mother was visibly shake.
I walked to the back and waited for the waitress to exit the kitchen. I then told her that it was my mother’s 89th birthday and she was shaken by her rudeness. And that I wanted her to know that; she was then started to tell the other waitress about the incident.
The waitress became quite upset and in a very loud voice shouted that she had not been rude and she’s”had enough in this stuff”. I told her that I hi in on everyone else in the restaurant notices. When she told me that she had enough of people like me and that we could just leave.
When I asked if I could see the manager she again waved me off and said -“enough”.
Embarrassed and mistreated I walked my mother outbid the restaurant. Both shaken, embarrassed and quite frankly hurt deeply to me made that we didn’t belong.
I could see that others had noticed this entire embarrassing incident.
This should just not happen over an elderly client requesting a booth.
