Symposium Cafe Restaurant Waterdown

Mediocre experience. Arrived around noon and half the restaurant had empty tables with dirty dishes piled high. No one bussing to clean up. Servers were racing around but evidently understaffed. Temperature was cold inside so everyone left their winter coats on. Won't be back.

Came for dinner Sunday and had a wonderful experience with the young lady waitressing. Ordered a very sub par meal that I didn’t like and was refused a refund. Highly unimpressed with the attitude from management. Poor customer service from their end and they talk down to their staff right in front of paying customers! Absolutely disgusted and uninterested in returning.

We went to Symposium and did take out on cake slices from the feature section (the ones on display) and were bit disappointed…. We paid for cheesecake and strawberry flavor only, it seemed like as those were the prominent flavors…. By the looks, the slices were great but taste wise- just wasteage of money. We paid $24 for two slices of cake … prices are really atrocious…. I don’t mind paying a little bit more but only if the cake is delicious.

The halibut was done to perfection. Our compliments to the chef!! Melted in your mouth. The butternut squash ravioli with Gnocchi was also great!

Myself, my fiancè, and our 2 year old son visited this evening (12.21.24) and had the best waitress. When our son started getting restless we traded off walking around with him. Our waitress started chasing him around and playing. She was so sweet. I'd go back just for her and the spinach dip

Served cold food. Staff were argumentative and would not refund or answer a simple question. Just excuse and passive aggressive comments from staff and manger. Horrible restaurant v

I really like this restaurant for lunch when I meet up with friends. There is always something for everyone on the menu, the service is very good, and we are not rushed but allowed time to chat over coffee and dessert afterwards. The prices are reasonable with a lot of menu items to choose from. There is plenty of parking which is always helpful.

Nice and spacious place. A good spot to hang out for a drink. First time at this location, we were a party of four and tried different dishes;
- chicken souvlaki, shy of average
- truffle fries, was good
- chicken fettuccini alfredo, quite average
- symposium burger, was good
- fish and chips, average overall
- broccoli soup, too watery
The service was good, our waitress kept checking on us. The ambiance is alright.
The prices are reasonable overall.

Monday night hamburger special can’t be beat for quality and price.
Our server was lovely. The atmosphere was quiet. Not sure why symposium in Waterdown isn’t busier. We look forward to returning.

We love Symposium Cafe in Waterdown! We have now been here twice for the breakfast menu and it never disappoints. The owners/managers or servers are always there to greet you with a smile. Our waitress Mansi was amazing, attentive, and so kind. Such fantastic service, staff always coming over to make sure your needs are met and that the food is tasting great (which it always is!)

Speedy service, quality tasing food. We will be back soon for some more brunch!
