I thought the food was very delicious and very filling! However after the meal I did get food poisoning

The dinner for two had so much that we couldn't finish, we also got spring rolls which weren't anything special and we felt were store bought instead of made, either than that the food was delicious however for my low rating the restaurant did not look very good from either the outside nor inside and getting food poisoning was not fun.

The restaurant also says dine in on Google however they only do take out, feels the restaurant is stuck in time

This was a great find for us! Traveling north, stopped near Wawa for the night, needed a good meal for 7 hungry travelers, really glad we chose Lai's for takeout! All the dishes were tasty, portions were generous, and the veggie dishes had a good variety of different vegetables, not just broccoli or celery like some places give you. We've added this restaurant to our list of favourite places in northern Ontario.

Absolutely the best chinese food I ever eaten. The staff was very nice. Everyone should try the fried rice just to be absolutely astonished. IT WAS SO GOOD. I would run, run from far away to come eat here.

Food is very good. Take out only, so can’t comment on the atmosphere. Food is fresh and tasty and I recommend it especially if you are on a long trip, like we were. Waiting time is about average for a Chinese restaurant, so I recommend calling ahead.

What a disappointment. First, although the pandemic is (I hope) long behind us, Lai's former dining room is vacant. This restaurant is takeout-only. The person who took my order at the counter was barely pleasant and also not helpful. I asked which dishes had a lot of vegetables; she pointed to one with three kinds of meat. There is a section of vegetarian dishes, but none have tofu. So I guessed Chicken Vegetable with Almond. That turned out to be a good guess. The dish had lots of crispy veggies. That's the good part. The dish was bland. I tried the two packets of soy sauce. Then I discovered that the bottom of the container was covered with a layer of broth-like liquid that diluted the soy sauce so much it added no flavor. I've never seen Chinese food like Almond Chicken in a broth. (Maybe the Independent supermarket on the highway has frozen food with veggies that you could heat up in a camp stove or in your motel room? I didn't check.)
