Golden Grill IV Family Restaurant & Tavern

Went for breakfast and everything was great, food was delicious and waitress was excellent. I usually put honey in my coffee and when she came to bring be a second cup of coffee, I added the honey and drank it. Got to the bottom drink and felt something in my mouth, spit it back in the cup and it was chucks of the honey and the cup had a lot at the bottom,
Told the waitress and she offered another cup. I said I had enough and left.
I really think the honey was old.
They should have given me a discount on my order or something.

We went to the restaurant last Monday and the waitress working was terrible. Very slow and rude. We were waiting to pay the bill and she very abruptly said you pay it at the bar. I in all my years of going to restaurants had to go up to the counter to pay. She's an older lady I understand that part but if you can't do your job then quit. The younger waitress working with her was doing all the work. And she was mostly outside smoking. Then came inside and never washed her hands after smoking and was handling food. Also she left the door open and smoke was filling the restaurant. It was disgusting. There were plenty of dirty tables too when we walked in. I had to clean a table to even sit down at one. Very poor waitressing skills. And rude. I will never go back again on a Monday. I have been there many times and the other waitresses are wonderful and very polite. The food is excellent and very reasonably priced. Just need to not go on Mondays.

My BFF took me out for breakfast today and this was an absolutely great experience..My friend mentioned it was my birthday and the staff surprised me with a delicious carrot cake serving, with a lit candle and sang Happy Birthday to me.. What a great place to dine, the food was 100% perfect!

Not the greatest experience. Before requesting cheese I specifically asked if it would be real cheese or processed cheese. The lady proceeded to tell me that they slice the cheese there and that it was real. Based on this information I ordered my omelette with cheese. Unfortunately about 1/3rd into it I realized it was processed cheese and was grossed out. I got through almost half of it and couldn't eat anymore as I can't handle processed cheese, the texture and taste disgusts me. The home fries were undercooked as well. When I brought it to the servers attention, she did offer to have them remake it for me but I was already grossed out, unimpressed and didn't feel like eating anymore at that point. She made sure I wasn't charged for the cheese, and while I appreciate that, it just doesn't make up for the fact that it was a poor experience.

I’m not one to complain…But - my family and I moved to Welland about 8 months ago, we have 2 young boys ages 7 and 5. We had been looking for a good restaurant in our area, we thought we found one on Ontario Rd Here in Welland there is a little place called Golden Grill.

We have been there 5 times already, excellent food, good portions…always had great service: problem last time we were there a waitress, perhaps middle age waited on us, she was polite but what she was wearing shocked both my husband and myself. She was wearing a dress very low cut - in fact she bent over to put our ketchup, jam, etc. on the table and my husband sat back. I was appalled at this and my 7 yr old commented daddy “that lady’s boobies are hanging out”. I thought this was a family restaurant. I asked a younger girl who was there also what the waitress’ name was serving us, she rolled her eyes and commented, “Kim is her name”.

We have been in there before and all seemed good. Who am I to say how the owners run their business but one thing for sure, we won’t be going back there.

No parent wants to bring their children to a restaurant where you have to explain this. We were very disappointed, etc; not in the food; but have a little respect for your customers and their children. Sad -

We try to get together as much as possible. The Golden Grill Restaurant on Ontario St. in Welland is our go-to place. The service is always great and the food is like being at home. We recommend that everyone give it a try. You won't be disappointed!

Moved to Welland at the beginning of May. This place s now one of our breakfast/lunch spots. Only been a few times, and the service is great, food is well
portioned n good. Prices are comparable to other restaurants.

Very Good place for breakfast

We travel up to Welland from Ohio to visit our daughter and grandkids.
We ALWAYS stop here for a meal and we’ve never been disappointed in the 6 years we’ve been doing it.
P-meal, eggs, hash browns and toast this morning!
