Wood fire atomic pizza is insanely good, veal parm amazing. Great hospitality, this is what owner passion mixed with great ingredients tastes like. Service on a packed Friday night was like a timex watch. They had a tall guy with the Niagara collage chefs shirt in front of the wood oven just pouring his heart into the food, I had a tear watching his efforts and focus. Cheesecake was Michelin star quality. Pizza soo good had to take another one home. I preferred the pizza at Matteo’s over Italy…. You actually get your moneys worth of toppings. Would recommend.

Took our Grandaughter here for dinner and the atmosphere , Lisa, the food , vodka penne , marinara penne, lobster ravioli the atomica pizza & bruschetta cooked in wood oven were all excellent , we really enjoyed our dinner , we also ordered food to go as well . Will definitely eat here again next time we are in Welland or the Niagra Falls region. Thanks you for a very enjoyable evening !!

The Margherita pizza is to die for. I can’t get enough of them. I’ve had so many different ones and this is by far my favourite. You can taste the care that was put into it.
I’m Italian and grew up eating Nonna’s sauce. The sauce on this pizza tastes like what I grew up eating. Phenomenal. It’s spiced to perfection, olive oil is drizzled perfectly, and somehow is so saucy, yet so crispy and not soggy at all.
The Chicken Milano is another favourite, and if you come here, you need to try the cheesecake. Non negotiable.

We had a wonderful dining experience at Matteo’s Italian Restaurant! From the moment we walked in, the warm ambiance and the attentive service made us feel welcome.
We ordered the Margherita Pizza, Eggplant Parmesan, and the Phyllo Cheesecake — and each dish was outstanding. The Eggplant Parmesan was rich and comforting, with layers that melted in the mouth — one of the best we’ve had!
We loved the Phyllo Cheesecake which was a delightful surprise — light, flaky, and not overly sweet, with a unique texture that we absolutely loved.
Matteo’s truly delivered on authentic Italian flavors with a creative twist. We’ll definitely be coming back!

The food is absolutely amazing! So flavourful and fresh. Our food came out nice and hot. Customer service is beyond what you would ever expect. The restaurant is very quaint and has a very welcoming feel. I would absolutely recommend making reservations, this place was very busy!

The best little hidden gem hiding in Welland The food was fantastic at our table each had something different lamb, pasta, chicken and pizza. There wasnt a word said once the food was delivered to our table everyone said the same thing delicious ( one little word of advice make a reservation) We will be back 👍

Ordered takeout for the first time after hearing great reviews. Polo pene was like a curry which i was not expecting. Lobster ravioli was very salty and seemed as if it was frozen lobster. We asked for the kids red sauce to be on the side as well as a side of parmesan.. sauce was on the pasta and no parm on the side. We dont intend on trying again.
