North Docks Pub & Patio

I tried a few time on Wing night. (not advertised). Wings were the smallest of any wing place (I've been 100's several times over in decades of devouring them). Dry and resemble cooked from grocery stores frozen package (I have tried may from many changes and not a one worth it). I see new post saying the same thing. I have been there for months because if it. But thought i'd see if any change was evident.

It was a lovely sunny evening but we were told we couldn't sit out on the patio because it was too blustery (there was no wind at all). The dining room is strange and cold. The food was ok. There was a rowdy, sweary crowd yesterday that put me off. I don't think I can recommend Pounders.

Good food very generous portions. Prompt friendly staff. View is the best in Wellington.

A relative owns the restaurant, so thought we would take a drive, and try it out. Great food, great people, great views while enjoying the outdoors.

The atmosphere was very loud. The table was sticky. Ordered deep fried pickles which we didn’t get. The burger was delicious.

Cool location but Food was not good. Ordered fish tacos and wings. Fish tacos tasted like it was leftovers, cold and cheap ingredients. Tiny wings tasted dry like it was freezer burnt, with little to no seasoning on it, and little meat on the wings. Service sucked too, no check in, I had to get up and get my own napkins, no offer to refill water, I had to ask for them to take away the plates when it was clear we finished it, they didn’t even ask if we enjoyed the food. Do not recommend.

I really want this place to be good. The patio is beautiful. The food is mediocre at best, but the service is truly terrible.

I have been in multiple times, and the staff are always chatting loudly behind the bar, completely ignoring customers.

There is potential for Pounders to be the gathering spot in town; they have local live music and a beautiful location. But you need to have staff be efficient, friendly and aware of customers needs.

My family had a very enjoyable experience having dinner here. The staff were friendly and overall it was a good atmosphere. We didn't have reservations, and didn't know what to expect in terms of the food, but we were pleasantly surprised. We have a small child, and felt welcomed.

This was a little disappointing. We were here for lunch based on recent reviews. There was nothing very pub looking about this restaurant. It was somewhat bare in decor and lacking ambiance. We had to wait to be seated whilst staff went to and fro when all it would take is telling us someone will be with us shortly. Once we were seated though, service was fine. The food was fine too though expensive for what it was..It was a cold and windy day so the patio was not in use...perhaps it would be more enjoyable being here on a sunny day.

Great patio on the water. Attentive servers. Can be a little slower service when busy with tourists. A little dark inside - maybe some paint and new decor could brighten it up.

Nice authentic spot. Had Fish and Chips (huge) and a local beer. Great view of the lake.
